Voice Actors for Skyrim

Post » Sun Feb 06, 2011 2:27 am

Justin Bieber being anywhere near this game is probably the only thing that could stop me buying it!

Umm, yeah pretty much the only thing...

Sean Bean's voice was freaking awesome as Martin! Although a bunch of unknowns would be better, but if they could get hundreds of famous VAs that'd be awesome. I love watching anime and recognizing certain actors.

I have my fingers crossed that they'll get many of the best and biggest actors they can get because it makes the game so much better. I loved Patrick Stewart and Sean Bean was fantastic in Oblivion...I wish he could come back too. They know how to act, not just read lines. With an inflection in their voice, they say more than just the information in the script.

Fallout New Vegas has many bigger actors and it made the game better. When you spend so many hours with a voice, like the companions, it's worth it to have great voice ACTORS. :)

Max von Sydow sounds great in preview.

I loved hearing Patrick Stewart, Sean Bean, Terence Stamp, (etc) in Oblivion. Quality voice acting is always important to me in games - the Soul Reaver series had me hooked because of all those amazing thespians!

So firstly, does anyone know any famous actors who are definitely involved in Skyrim?

Secondly, who do you think would be perfect as a voice actor for Skyrim?

This is cool, but you know what? I don't know if you agree with me, but I would rather have 1000 less famous people who don't get paid as much so we can get more voice diversity for people. It was so stupid that voices of races were all basically the same in Oblivion, they even had the same voices for Orcs and Nords! Not sure about the other races I forget if they had the same voices between more than one race.

Point is there should be SO many different voices even for people within the same race.

I don't care for big name actors. They're fine, I don't mind them. But I'd rather the money go to hundreds of others to voice so I don't have the same voices! I'd prefer 1 person voice 2 voices at MOST. I hate having races have only 2 different voice actors.

"We're "
"Watching you"
"Scum!!!"

I'd like Micheal Dorn, Temura Morrison, Tony Todd, Angela Bassett, and Nigella Lawson.

I'd prefer some no-names that can fit the setting instead of celebrities that have 5 minutes of dialogue yet take up a third of the game's budget.

Imagine no possessions - I wonder if you can, no need for greed or hunger. A brotherhood of man..

I think I'm in the "the more the merrier" camp, but I didn't mind Stewart either, and the repetition didn't get to me with the others. I could go either way.

I don't know why, but Simon Pegg is someone who I would really like to do a voice for some reason, knowing full well it probably wouldn't fit in the game world anywhere >.<

No fewer than 80 unknowns who would work for the money normally spent on one celebrity, thus reducing the tendency of every third NPC to sound alike. (If not every other NPC)

Agreed.

I was more impressed with Wes Johnson, Jonathan Bryce, Elisabeth Noone, Craig Sechler, and Jeff Baker than Patrick Stewart, Sean Bean, or Terence Stamp. There's a difference between being a screen/stage actor and a voice actor, and one doesn't necessarily translate well to the other. Stewart was good at the prose and opening monologue, but I'm sorry to say, he seemed out-classed for the in-game dialog.

Anyone but the voice actors for the Nord and Orc females.
*Cringes*
Seriously though, I couldn't care less if their voice is awesome.

Christopher Walken.

That would be epic......

But really, I just hope they add more. Quantity over quality in this case. Because as someone mentioned above me, I hate how the elves share the same voices, orcs/nords ....etc. And it always annoyed me how the beggars voices would change in an instant.... It's like oh now that you gave me a coin I use my normal, healthy voice to talk about some rumors. :P You tricky beggars...

I'd like Micheal Dorn, Temura Morrison, Tony Todd, Angela Bassett, and Nigella Lawson.

Well I don't know who half of them are lol. Worf and Nigella Lawson I know - you could be onto something with her. After googling Temura Morrison I see he's Jango Fett (not sure how good his voice is?)

To all of you who do not want to attempt a suggestion because of your cold logical brains getting stuck on the budgeting, I feel sorry for you. Good luck letting go in a fantasy game lol...

check out the Gameinformer feature on voice casting in Skyrim, if you haven't.
Good stuff.

Just saw it - Max von Sydow sounded really good! And it's nice to know all the races will have their own voicing.

would be kinda cool to see some of the voice actors from Morrowind make an appearance. kinda miss the voices of the dark elves, bosmer, and even the imperials. dunno if i'm the only one, the guy who did the voices of the imperials in oblivion kinda annoyed me lol

Yes - Ian Mckellen would be epic.

I think there's a good chance Wes Johnson will make another appearance given how often he's worked with Bethesda before now.

I doubt Peter Lorre could give it his best what with the death 'n all :)
