not for the pc at least, which makes sence, or you get that akward "my pc is basically X character from Y show/movie" vibe

I couldn't care less. I've not given up hope for an option to disable PC voice and opt for on-screen text - although that hope is dwindling slowly...

I freaked out when I found out it was Courtenay Taylor. Jack was my favorite companion in Mass Effect 2 and, looking at her IMDB, she's had her fingers in a lot of my favorite games too. Games like Fallout: New Vegas, KOTOR, XCOM EU, Saints Row 2-4, Halo: Reach, inFamous, and even Destroy all Humans 2. I'm definitely going to have to go female for my first playthrough now, no question about it.

Well the choise of Taylor actually makes me want to play as a female, just to hear her delivery of the dialogue.

Jack in ME2 was very well written. Jack in ME3 was written as a piece of crap.

The dialogue actors are only as good as their material is. I hope it is good enough to support the story.

I honestly thought it was Troy Baker or Roger Craig Smith.

Glad to know there's yet another "everyman" voice actor out there. I'll just lump him in with Nolan North and the previously mentioned...

Absolutely cool with Courtney Taylor. I hope they were smart enough to have her do a voice similar to Jack's for any evil/cruel lines. Might have to use her for my "raider" play through.

Which is completely irrelevant. None of the best voice actors in games were ever able to make it in Hollywood. That's why they have so much time to do all the lines of dialogue you would need for a 400 hour video game.

Exactly. Just look at Bryan Cranston. The dude is an amazing actor, but most of his roles previous to Breaking Bad were singular episodes of dozens of tv shows or as Hal on Malcom in the Middle.

It took Vince Gilligan's awesome talent to really create a character that Cranston could become.

Speaking of Bryan Cranston, how awesome would he be in a game like Fallout? Some crazy scientist making chems maybe?

...Come to think of it, neither have i. I've played all my constant characters in games with a single voice actor without it being weird.

I'll just move this to the "non-issue" pile :hehe:

It's the "child and marriage" bit that causes issues :teehee:

Possibly, but I was less concerned about the fact that he didn't make it in Hollywood and more concerned that there isn't any significant role to measure his voice acting outside of this game. I've made no secret that I'm not impressed by him so far, but it would have been nice if I could look up scenes from another game he's in or a tv show that he worked on as an important character to see if I liked him in those.

You're the minority, believe me.

And whew, a male protagonist escapes Troy Baker and gives room to a lesser known VA. That's a relief.

I also liked their pick for the female. She knows how to make a bad girl ;]

At least the voice of the guy is not played by Erik Dellums.

The casting of Courtney Taylor means I very well may roll a female character this time around.

To work work on a game for two years? Lol no... That would be like half of the budget.

Cry moar. I've played Fallout since the originals and I honestly couldn't give two [censored] about voiced dialogue. It never bothered me in any other game that has it, like Mass Effect. It won't bother me now. Besides, I'm sure within a week there will be a mod to convert all the player dialogue to the old full line, non spoken dialogue of previous Fallouts.

IF I heard his voice, I would think I'm playing as Captain Picard.

Every time the player says something "get going" or "yes" the line is "engage" or "make it so," respectively lol.

Courtenay is one of my favorite voice actresses. I had my doubts about a voiced protag until I heard she was doing the female voice.

Well from what I heard I'm not exactly impressed by him....well maybe I can just get a mod that replaces him with silent voice files. Not that I even want a voiced protagonist.

They should have just cast Troy Baker for every sound played. You take a step forward and instead of hearing a puddle splash or dirt get crushed you hear Troy Baker grunting.

Eh i thought the male voice actor sounded fine, infact i'm happy he sounds like joe everyman than having a super annoying unique voice, if that makes sense.

I kinda want to play the female character now, not only does she do jack from mass effect, but she also does the voice of starla which i find hilarious
