Voice actors that you think should be in FO4

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 4:34 pm

Every single NPC in the game should have Liam Neeson voicing for them. And I mean EVERY NPC, be it man or female. It would be like heavan
He already played James, LW's dad, and he died.
I think his voice is a bit too easy to tell, but yeah maybe he will do more if Beth splash the cash :P

If you talk about him all the time like your last post, then it isn't a well kept secrets.

Think "Gran Torino" Clint Eastwood.
He wasn't racist in Gran Torino. He just said bad things about everyone, including white people.

Yeah that would make a good character, a surviving war vet that is similar to the character in Gran Torino becoming a ghoul in a world where they aren't very popular

I'd love to see Clint Eastwood do the voice of an old, but bad-ass companion.
I could also see Alan Rickman be brought on as the head of the (as portrayed in-game) evil faction, or at least the leaders right-hand man.

THIS THIS THIS!!!!
I SAID THIS GODDAMNIT!!!

Clint Eastwood is THE ultimate bad ass, you cannot deny this FACT.
Even in his 70s he can/will scare the crap out of you, he is my one and only idol. Seriously, he needs to be in Fallout. Playing the Man With No Name!!!
You could put him up against 1000+ securitron aswell as 1000 NCR Rangers, he would take them all out with only a peace maker, and he would still be able to say somthing bad ass while doing so.

Actually i would want same type of voice as in the sims 3. There was pitch slider and gender had own voices to keep variety to sounds and all sims speak sims language what doesnt mean anything. I would want that they would use the same. It would safe voice actor costs hugely and it would allow modders to add more content that doesnt break immersion because of lack of voice or horrible voice acting becaues they could use "lets call it fallout language" and there would be different type of it, like angry, normal, hopeful, happy, sad, fear etc.
Also it would cut the limits of the dialog due to voice acting costs. I usually get tired of slow speaking because i can read like 10x faster than they speak dialog in differend kind of games so it would make dialog scenes go faster and not getting bored of waiting.

Ofcourse they could hire more than one actor to do those fallout language speaks to keep bigger variety.

I've been thinking about this and the one thing I don't want to see/hear is a voice cast like Skyrim has, top heavy with little (no) variety among the majority of NPCs. I'd like to see a few "name" voices and a cadre of voice actors with a lot of range. The latter could be actors like:

Steven Jay Blum
Tara Strong
Phil LaMarr
Dee Bradley Baker
Frank Welker
Jennifer Hale
Nolan North
Fred Tatasciore
Robin Downes
Laura Bailey
Yuri Lowenthal
Grey DeLisle
Crispin Freeman
Kari Wahlgren

(the usual suspects)

As for "name" voice actors, one I haven't heard mentioned (or heard much in video games, relatively speaking) is James Earl Jones. Robert Carlyle is another actor whose voice I like. Micheal Wincott, Lance Henrikson, Ian McShane, Rutger Hauer, Dennis Haysbert, Jeremy Irons, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, John Malkovich, and Gillian Anderson would be a few others I wouldn't mind (depending on the role).

Professional voice actors, I mean what the hell is the point of getting an A-List Actor for a role that anyone could voice? other then trying to attract that fan base.

Malcolm Mcdowell, his voice as Eden was AMAZING.

Micheal Dorn, great job as Marcus and, of course, FRANK HORRIGAN :D

Peter Jason, we need another Sargeant Dornan

Ronald Lee Ermey, he did a good job on General Barnaky.

Sean Connery

Billy Connolly

Denzel Washington

Samuel Jackson

I would say Phillip Bartlett (Original voice of Mewtwo) but he's dead so, Dan Green will do.

(Its an ideal list... not like they would all agree or not have issues with the game.)

Tom Baker (aka 4th Doctor Who)
Frank Welker (aka 1200 voices, and voiced a part in Fallout 1)
Tom Waits (aka the engineer/pawnshop owner in Book of Eli ~though that's the least of what he's known for.)
Jon St Jon (I'm kidding of course; I like his work but he's typecast for life as Duke Nukem)
Bernadette Peters
Cree Summer
Don Rickles
Donald Sutherland
Yaphet Kotto
CCH Pounder
Carol Kane
Michael Clarke Duncan
Brad Dourif
Richard Moll
David Ogden Stiers
Rob Paulsen
Tress MacNeille
Maurice LaMarche

Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman FTW. There are other great voice talent but those just stick out at me for the moment.
