No one famous in particular actually. I'd prefer some awesome talent that's not well known.

This.

Why should it matter whether an NPC is voiced by someone who happens to be a well know actor? Do we find other peoples voices in real life less "voicy" because they're no famous? To me the whole idea of famous voice actors seems utterly pointless, unless they actually get an extremely talented voice actor, like Billy West (voices Philip J. Fry, Professor Hubert Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg and Zapp Brannigan from Futurama and Ren from Ren & Stimpy, to name a few)

While I would prefer mostly a cheaper and more robust cast, having BRIAN BLESSED as a greybeard and Sean Connery as some sort of passive dragon would be pretty sweet! :D

An array of actual, experienced voice actors, rather than high priced "name" voices.

(That said, I didn't recognize Liam Neeson & Malcolm McDowell in FO3. So much for spending $$$ for people I didn't see mentioned in the advertising, and didn't realize were in the game until people mentioned it on the forums.)

Max von Sydow narrates the trailer and will be voice-acting Esbern apparently. A very good actor.
I suspect that like Oblivion and FO 3 most of the voice actors will be relative unknowns with a few biggish names there. I trust Bethesda to know their business and presume that however little difference big names make to the final game they are worth it for publicity purposes.

The general consensus from the previous thread is we would like a vast amount of unknown actors instead of a few highly paid celebrites

No name in particular comes to mind but I love having the highest level of actor they can find...award winning actors who know what they're doing and want to do it because they love it....people who know how to *act* and feel the dialogue with their hearts, not just their voices. :)

Steven Blum without a doubt. One of the best voice actors around in my opinion. He has done some marvelous roles as well such as;
-Spike Spiegal (Cowboy Bebop)
-Grayson Hunt (Bulletstorm)
-Vincent Valentine (Dirge of Cerberus)

I don't want a number of high profile voice actors. It's hard to immerse yourself into a virtual world if all you're thinking to yourself is....Is that Liam Neeson? That's Liam Neeso! I mean Joker in ME is just Seth Green and everytime he talked I thought to myself...That's Seth Green. That's Seth Green. That's Seth Green. It was a little off-putting. I don't want to recognise the voices before I play the game!

The actor has to be good enough to make the role so you're not thinking about who it is off-screen. That's no different from seeing the actor in a movie. While you're watching, if the actor isn't good, you're not immersed...if they are, you are and you don't see the person who's acting, you see the character they are portraying. That's the caliber of actor I want to have in Skyrim because it's going to be *that* special.

To each his own though...everyone has their preference. :)

ADDED: I should mention that when I watch the trailer now, I don't hear Max von Sydow, I hear Esbern. He's that great. It's all a part of giving yourself up to the experience and if you're fighting it, you'll still get exactly what you think you're going to get. :)

Like many have said, I don't particularly care if there are famous voice actors or not. As long as the voice acting is good I'm happy. But, as Bethesda have already stated that they've hired some big names, I may as well add a few voice actors to the wish list.

I should make it clear beforehand that for me personally, American accents tend to break immersion in any fantasy setting. It's one of my gripes with the previous games. I guess that it's because America didn't even exist in the real world time period that most reflects the setting of Tamriel. So, Wonder Woman really didn't do it for me. That said, here's my list.

I totally agree with Ian McKellan and Ian McShane, both mentioned in previous posts. One is fantasy/sci fi royalty and the other played one of the best screen villains of the last ten years. Both could lend much weight to the series.

Simon Pegg: I think he'd make a really interesting incarnation of the adoring fan.

Dominic West: A streetwise, ranking member of the thieves guild.

David Tennant: Could assume any number of roles. Would prefer that he used his natural scots accent.

Cate Blanchett: A queen perhaps? Certainly someone with gravitas and power.

Kelly McDonald: Natural scots accent or the irish one she used in Boardwalk Empire. Either would be fantastic.

Robbie Coltrane: Probably best known for his turn as Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies. Not that I'm a great fan of those stories, but I am a great fan of that rustic accent he pulls off!

Why are people saying that Morgan Freeman should voice Esbern when we already know its going to be Max Von Sydow?

Like most people, I'd go for a larger number of highly talented, but largely unknown voice actors. It's actually pretty distracting when you get a voice that you know well from some TV series. I didn't mind Patrick Stewart because I knew he was going to get bumped off at the start. But I found Sean Bean quite distracting, because of Lord of the Rings etc.

I think Gilbert Gottfried would be better suited to voice the bosmer. Especially if they plan to continue portraying them as the clowns of Tamriel. :P

Seth MacFarlane....for everything.

Edit: (Yes, this does include all creature noises and sound effects. Hand the man a hundred dollar bill and tell him to start making some dragon noises.)
