Voiceovers Concern

Post » Thu Sep 02, 2010 2:56 am

when we say we want variety we don't want 1 npc to use 5 different voice sets.we want most of them to use 1 then a couple of em maybe to use the same. in almost every game i have played with voiceovers, this goes for witcher and oblivion and world of warcraft's emotes (check the blood elf female ones, they have like 2 or 3 different voices.) then the characters tend to use a different voice depending on what you ask them, like say in morrowind you're doing a quest, you ask an npc about this quest and his voice is his own, then u ask him about rumors and his voice is different now. understand? for me this is a big issue, forgive me if this has been discussed before.

Bethesda was getting used to the new fully-voiced dialogue system. That's why there weren't many actors.

This. Voice acting will be well looked after.

I agree. This really bothered me when a beggar would have a whiney voice then back to a deep, Imperial one when talking about rumours.

After the disaster that was Oblivion voice acting I'm confident they have figured their stuff out. It was a pretty major concern so I'm sure they got the message.

Nontheless, never take stuff for granted or high expectations may kill your fun. :)

If they don't fix the voice-acting though, that would be an epic-fail for bethesda in my book.

Meh, if I have to I will mute the voices and turn on subs. I don't have a problem playing without voices. I just hope that i they are there they are done competently.
