Hi All,

All of a sudden I don't have any audio for character voices anymore when talking directly to them. I can hear the speak when they speak to each other but when I talk to anyone, there mouth moves but nothing comes out LOL. I thought after restarting the game and then the PC it may resolve itself but no luck there after reloading my game

Is this a common bug? I think it happened ages ago when I first started playing Oblivion.

Have you checked the voice slider and such?

Yes...it was the first thing I checked

You can here a very faint muffled voice, it seems to have effected my inventory sounds as well.

This on top of my issue with unintentionally stealing the priory horse is really starting to piss me off! I'm try to get enough money to pay the fine but do you think I can get into a town to sell stuff and going through dungeons getting the bits and pieces of gold you randomly find is going to take forever!...I don't want to go to jail because as I found out you loose levels on your attributes after serving your time that I have worked so hard for!! :banghead:

I think I will have to look into those console commands to see if I can simply get rid of the mark against my name...really destroying the enjoyment in the game for me at the moment :swear:

I know this is just a shot in the dirt, but is your own sound plugged in properly? I had this same problem playing KotOR a few years ago and it was so because my sound wasn't connected properly.

Thanks for the help but I am certain its an issue with the game, it does this on my normal sound system and also my USB headphones which have their own internal sound card. The sound on both are absolutely fine for everything else such as other games, music, videos, etc.

I've still got this other odd glitch as well where items that would be classed as stolen if I picked them up do not show a red warning icon, that's how I originally got into my stolen horse dilema.

Odd how these random glitches keep occurring with no change to the game except playing it :pinch:

I should really search / experiment a bit more before posting in frustration LOL...downloaded the latest patch, applied it and my missing voice issue is resolved...all back to normal. Yet to check out the red icon issue but that I can live with and it's fairly obvious (generally ) what you're not allowed to take.
