Voices and sound effects gone, music and wind sounds ok ?

I've been playing Skyrim V for a while now and it has always worked pretty well, until last night. Suddenly in game sounds are not working properly. I hear music and environmental sounds (like wind), ok. But all other sounds are gone or almost inaudible. I can barely hear other characters speak. I can't hear my own sword being sheathed, can't hear my shouts, can't hear footsteps etc. With out the sounds working the game is essentially ruined.

I've seen a bunch of posts online with the same of similar symptoms, but none of the fixes have worked for me. Most recommend enabling Loudness Equalization or Virtual Surround Sound enhancements in your sound driver.

Others mention removing the divers for Realtek sound cards, but I don't seem to have one. Below are my system specs. I would really appreciate any advice on what to be looking for or try to fix this issue!

System and game specs:

Skyrim V Elder Scrolls (no add ons etc)

Sound Card: Cirrus Logic CS4206B (AB 40) w/ up to date drivers

Win 7 running on BootCamped Map Book Pro (8gb RAM)

Thanks,

Dave

There should be a software in the control panel that controls the sound card properties. It might look something like Smart Audio. Make sure you disable the virtual sound environments and almost anything else since it is best to let the game manage the sound environment.
