Have you even played both games or are you just making uninformed decisions? These votes are stupid and pointless because most people are probably going to vote for the only one of the two they have played. The only way for any of this to make any sense is if everyone voting played both games from beginning to end. User votes are pointless. You want to hear good GOTY discussion go onto giantbomb.com. Those guys are well informed, play a tonne of games and are hella funny too.

P.S. I played BOTH games and I voted for Skyward Sword.

Thanks for pointing me to the contest.

I voted for Zelda even though I have never played it, but an unfinished game should not win.

Also, the fact that I can vote for a game I have never played proves the contest is pointless!

I feel sorry for those who had trouble with game breaking bugs in Skyrim (I have encountered bugs as well, but not that much), but it still feels like people in general nitpicks way to much.

As much as I wanted to vote for Skyrim, there are just too many bugs and glitches in the game. Anyway, I am still playing Zelda Skyward Sword and so far it's awesome and I voted for Zelda instead of Skyrim as I don't think it's wise to vote for a broken game as GOTY.

Only a true TES fan would be able to see past the MINOR (not game-breaking in any way, because unless you can't move/reload/play for more than 5 seconds, its not game breaking. You can still play.) bugs and realize that Skyrim deserves a GOTY more than something Nintendo has had going for years, and is basically an attempted re-roll of Ocarina of Time.

Skyrim is ok, Skyrim isn't opening anything new into the TES series like Oblivion and Morrowind did in their times. Skyrim was raised on hype only to end up playing Oblivion 2. Same engine etc.., there isn't anything new in Skyrim other then some UI layouts and cooking and crafting. Something in the RPG genre that has been done 1,000 times over.

That's what a sensible person would do. Not a whiny five year old that says the game is broken and not finish because of a bad patch that has been out for a day.

when the game goes from barely playable from lag(in a single player offline game ffs) to unplayable after the patch it is a broken game.

I voted for Skyrim because at least it tries to be different. Skyward Sword? Played it but couldn't finish it. Worst Zelda game I have ever played. Especially since I have to use the awful motion sensor in order to play it. At least Twilight Princess let you pick a gamecube controller. Sorry I don't vote for games who don't try and be different when it comes to story.

Edit: Also didn't like the gameplay at all.

I never liked Zelda..I found it too childish, even when I was 12 years old. Not my type of game. GO SKYRIM! :tes:

Couldn't have said it better myself. Those games just seemed childish-- tried three Zelda games and never played any for more than 8 or so hours. Maybe it's because all the characters look like children, and the graphics are cartoony?

Opinion? Obviously. That's what the voting is about! :) Each to his/her own!

while skyrim is an addictive and immserive beast. dark souls takes the cake for me in terms of innovation, vision, art direction and gameplay.

skyrim probably being second or third tho...
