Vote Kick Feature - Updated [02/06/11]

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:15 pm

Crytek we do not need any sophisticated vote kick gui, we need only two buttons.

This is my proposition of how it may look and work.

1. If you want to start a vote kick then hit TAB (or any button that is binded to stats)
2. Click the "vote kick" button.
3. Message appears on the top of the screen like in "maximum radar" etc. so other people will know that voting has been started. Player who we need to kick is highlighted in red and there is a extra button right to hes nickname etc.
4. If I agree with the rest and want to kick this user then after the voting has started Im able to click or not to click the "vote yes" button in the stat list.

It should be very simple to add this into the game. As I said before we do not need any sophisticated vote kick mechanism. Just plain and simple 2 buttons + msg on top of the screen.

Below two drafts how it may look.

Crytek's mistake was creating CryTek UK. A "separate" CryTek "dedicated" to just making the multiplayer portion of the game.

They spent more on decorations than they did on the multiplayer portion of the game. The result? Their votekick system is lazier than COUNTERSTRIKE, and THAT game is almost 10 years old! Pathetic, CryTek, pathetic. You know why I paid for my own server? Because you guys can't do your jobs right. You know why there are more users playing this game illegally online through Tuungle and Hamachi? Because they saw us, your consumers, having so many problems with the game. If you have any projected losses from lost sales, you DESERVE IT.

Just as in Crysis and Crysis Wars there should be a message banner displaying how to vote kick

I met SmX too in the CityHall he can stand 100 meters above you and snipe everything down.
It's a damn cheater.
Why don't the simply ban them. So they can play only single players if they must cheat.

Anyway Votekick must be improved with a Graphical HUD cause people will not open the console to vrite to kick somebody...this because many don't want to get killed by writing.

Ideas:
So this is what should be: The Promoter of the Votekick should press F1( if no votation is active ) this will bring a list selector for the player to kick then "Left Mouse Button click" or "Return" to start the votekick, this will also automatically add a vote from the Promoter to kick the player.
The other players will see a "Press F1 to votekick player XXX" same style as Invites sent to players while in game.

This is important also:
Many Cheaters are using particular letter combination to make votekick useless.

I definitely agree with ya.

Also many use too long names as Smx for example that will take a lot to write in console, so votekick graphical HUD is a must to solve all these problems.

I definitely agree with ya.

can't u programm a menue, which every user can see and press e.g. 1 for yes and 2 for no.
That would be way better.
I wanted to play crysis 2 yesturday and today and on both days **** cheaters have been on the server. A lot of users don't know the command to kick someone and it would be good, when the written chat is seeable, when you type sth in your chat.

Really useful, votekick, but most of the players in Crysis 2 don't look @ the chat that much to see that there is a vote going on. Some don't look @ it @ all... o_0
and IF they look, they don't understand how to vote! i really spent 3 matches to explain my team how to (vote)kick an aimbothacker.
So, maybe you can build in some controls? (sorry for my poor english). For example: Page Up = YES.
When you press Page Down, you get a small list of players in the match, and you select the one you want to get votekicked!
Wouldn't that be an easier solution than the console? Maybe they can add a popup, to help people voting, or choose to request a vote.

i don't know if this is mentioned before, but this is what came up in my mind.

Devs please note: players with " ( " as the first character in their name cannot be kicked.

There was one player with ( in his nick that went 44-1-0 hiding inside a wall with a no clipping hack. Dun want to name and shame.

Why the votes are allowed for such a short period of time? And why the message disappears from the screen so quickly? I initiated 5 kickvotes, but never succeded. The message disappears to quick and no one sees it, and there is not enough time to vote, nor to explain to the others "just type 'vote' in console".

DUDE same thing happen to me! D: Yesterday I was playing in my server and this hacker was speedhacking and inside through walls. I used an external admin interface and tried to ban him but it said error because his name included a parenthesis ( . Then I use the votekick console command and STILL said error. Piss me off.

The vote kick feature is good, depending how you look at it. I got kicked twice today from the same server just because i have some skill.
I guess its frustrating for some players that someone is having a winning streak. Just because i got lucky in some way that does not mean im a cheater!!!!!

I guess after 28 pages of replies there is not much left to say...other than the votekick system as is does not work well. But anyway...

I am new to FPS games and honestly I get my butt kicked by good players all the time and I don't mind because I am learning and maybe somday I'll return the favor :-) But I have learned to tell the difference between good players and cheats and I also see that the cheats and hackers almost always use names that will not work in the console.

Because I would not want to kick a good player off for being skilled I will not vote yes unless I have been killed by him and agree that he is cheating, or at least several good players saying that he was cheating. Maybe an explination on why one is getting kicked off would be a good feature in the next votekick process Crytek makes (you are working on that right Crytek?) :-) I also noticed that noone has ever been kickvoted off the server yet while I am on, mostly because of insufficient votes.

It's too bad there are hackers and cheaters in the games, they ruin the game for all. I have resigned to leaving the server and finding another if the cheater has too big an advantage.

Ill be fast... voting is difficult for most players, the voting experience resumes in TEACHING the other players how to vote, then voting is over and badabum cant call it back, and ppl dont know how.. i like L4d2's kicking system, should be like that. someone casts a voting by a couple of cliks( no typing ^^) and players accept with a single button, there!

Heres an idea. Add either a short but sweet version of how to vote for a kick in your "Crysis 2 MP news" marquee, which hasnt said a goddamn thing other than "Welcome to Crysis 2!!" since launch, or add a link to the forums OP, or have it tell people to check the gamesas forums for info on how to kick people....or SOMETHING. We havent recieved any info whether you intend to polish up your votekick system or not yet, and barring maybe 3 seperate occasions where I was playing with friends who knew wtf was going on, EVERY VOTE I INITIATE OR SEE INITIATED IS MET WITH A BARRAGE OF RESPONSES AS FOLLOWS "how I vote?" "where do I console?" "vote" "hackers leave!" "-" or no response at all since noone even sees a vote has been called.

Is it me or are not so many cheaters playing in last days? I played a lot this week and I think I saw one or two, but no more. Do Crytek really keeps its words and take care of cheaters, nice and quiet?!? If so, good job, finally... Or maybe cheaters had enough fun end they don't play anymore? ;)
