An easier way to vote kick players would be this:
Press F5 to open the votekick menu, which shows all the players, you can select one by pressing 1-9 and turn the page by pressing 0 in case of more than 9 players.
If you selected a player you can chose why he should be kicked (hacking, glitching, teamkilling, harassment etc.), also by pressing 1-4.
Now the other players can say 'Yes' and 'No' by pressing F5 or F6.
This system is based on the kick system in Combat Arms.

They should have the commands "vote 1" bound to the "Page Up" key and "Vote 0" to the "Page Down" key and shown on the HUD like BF2. Works like a charm

Is it possible to lets say: votekick 521 - where 521 is the id number of player.
sometimes people have nicknames like: Mast4|||la|||niewiasta|||_^$^%#%# and typing all this when the game is on, and theres timelimit is nonsense.

and guys please: what is the problem with binding the f5/f6 or f1/f2 keys for: vote yes, vote no ?
vote no is important due to kill the stupid voters!

Crytek this is going to ruin instant action... What if the first player has done 9-0 or 14-2 and everyone kicks him thinking he is a cheater?

Ah guys when you type in the player you want to kick just type in the first few letters of the player hit tab and walla... the who players name will pop up.. make sure its the right player and hit enter. but most will not sit and find a spot to sit why voting. It will cut into peoples play time and since this is mostly run and gun it will not work as intended. Unless its someone like CrytekProgrammer. i think everyone would gladly take a death to kick that dude.

We could look at doing this but we wanted to get this feature available ASAP and it's perfectly usable as is. As for "no" voting, any votes that aren't cast are considered no votes, so it doesn't matter whether there's a menu/key shortcut or not. Someone who doesn't know how to use the system will automatically cast a no vote.

Good point, i'll add that to the OP :)

Since it requires at least half the server to vote, there should be a community approach towards this. If you guys feel someone isn't cheating and a vote is called, speak up, ask people not to vote. Remember that by default, this is not permanent though so even if someone is unfairly kicked, it's up to the server admins to permanently ban someone. You should speak with the server community/admins about the settings in which they use on the servers. This also carries through to the ratio required for a successful kick, which is customisable by admins.

Cheers!

I think its a good step to loose cheaters and hackers here, and you can see at the killcamara its ok to kick or not.
Sure its a small way to say its a cheater or not but if a lvl 8 player need one hit by a lvl 42 player hm.... that not realy ok. I have often the problem that i need a full magazin to kill lower player and there stand still for me.
a good player is always on the move or he kill you over Sniperrifle^^
and it give some names there we all knows or look at Kill top 10 all player with 300000 to ... kill/.... are not realy good player^^

Someone who doesn't know how to use the system will automatically cast a no vote.

That's the whole problem of this useless vote kicking system you decided to add this patch. If i was you i would ask myself the following questions before throwing out that garbage:

-How many people will know what to do(how to vote mainly) in the next days?
-How many people are actually reading the forums ?
-How many people are actually "not-casual" to use your information to actually kick an hacker?

Well i'm sorry to ruin your perfect world but id say 20-30% of your community will probably use it if not less, resulting in hackers using retarded names, people just quitting the server cause voting is hard for them, since right now its easier to just leave and join another server then kicking someone.

Let's be honest, this system right now is a joke.

Please let us know if you have any difficulties with the vote kicking system or suggestions on how it could be improved!

Do you really need someone to tell you what you need to do to improve this Vote-to-kick 'feature'? We are in the 2011 and i need to spend my MP time, typing hackers names(tab or not i don't really care) and telling others how to vote yes ? Are you kidding me?

Since it requires at least half the server to vote, there should be a community approach towards this. If you guys feel someone isn't cheating and a vote is called, speak up, ask people not to vote.

Someone who doesn't know how to use the system will automatically cast a no vote.

Don't you see anything wrong in these 2 sentences? I'd be surprised if in 1 game i will see someone getting kicked.

Again, Today 27/04/2011 you are asking me to use your console to start a "vote to kick".
Right....

While i do like the idea about being able to kick hackers unfortunently the little kids that dont know skills from hacks are gonna make us skilled players suffer i hope u guys have some measures on this feature to not have us players that are commited and skilled getting kicked for no reason.

I do believe u must be 18 to buy this game, so dont be too concerned about the few crackbabies that get this from their parents at the age of 10...

I understand your point, but there is no way around that issue...i personally think simple speed restrictions/ amount of bullets fired outta cloak/amount of maximum damage receivable while in armour mode would make a easier solution. but thats just a gamer talkin here, no idead of the work behind that.

so far

Hi Cry-Adam. Thx for your instruction. It's very helpful. Can you also add any instructions how to add reserved slots for admins? I can't find it anywhere and my gameserver provider is not informed how it works.

Well yes, it is nice to have this option but using console during game, especially on small maps like Terminal or Skyline will cause unnecessary deaths. This is not first time when someone is trying to type 2-3 words into /all chat for example and die 2 times in process. Also let's face some facts, most often there is so many people cheating in Ranked games that people will literally spend half game just to try kick those who abuse hacks most. Before 1.4 patch even Unranked games were saving XP so it was actually better for MP gaming because cheating people didn't enter official unranked servers to often and everything was kinda balanced. Now when Unranked games are not saving XP we don't have decent servers to play because almost all good servers are based on unranked games, and you can't progress on unranked game anymore. My point is, Unranked servers which was saving XP are not anymore an oasis for legit players who want avoid hackers and have good fun, right now i am not enjoying MP at all. If this is possible Unranked games should still save XP and let people progress just for sake of some balance till anti-cheating futures will be working properly.

Speaking as a server admin, is there a server config command available to not allow this happening? Something along the lines of; set g_allowVote "0"
And could we have some information on the reserved slot feature please guys, how do we implement this?
Cheers! :)

If you are too good then donot play with noobs. They have every right to kick you.Play with your match or donot play. That how this world works.

Or if u fail too much just dont ever play FPS again and let us play as we want ! im sry if we're too good for you but it's not a reason for getting us kicked in everygame we go! We're better than you, we deserve the right to have a great score and you guys should just shut it up and learn to play.
Yesterday scores : 26-2 24-5 18-3 16-0 and much more .. in differents games.. not like i was killing the same noobs over and over they just everywhere! SO... im not really in agree with that vote kick system.. just gonna make REAL FPS players look for some other games ! And anyway i got crysys 2 for like 3 week now and im already pissed off of it ! too much bugs everywhere and news patches just bring more problems...

Welll.. in fact i'd resume this as CRYSIS 2 = FAIL ... nice solo mode.. fail online!

Vote kick is nice but it would have been great if you can provide a reason. like "\vote_kick playername/id " and the rest should be able to just press "F1" fo yes and "F2" for no.

Ive just encountered someone speedhacking and firing while cloaked. I opened the console, enabled a votekick against this player and what happened? The vote expired before I explained to people how to vote him out of the game. For some ridiculous reason there is a three minute period where you cannot place another votekick.

Lets face it, most people are too stupid to handle an F1 - Yes F2 - No voting system. Asking the average PC gamer to use the console is just not going to work. Most players dont even know how to open it let alone use it.

You need to implement a MUCH better voting system than the current one Crytek. Not because its poor but because people are simply too stupid to use it.

Yes. Obviously such measures should have been implemented from the outset and proper cheat protection - this system is not ideal. Still it's better than nothing I suppose.
