Vulcans in Morrowind

Post » Tue Aug 20, 2013 6:19 pm

I didn't visit this place for a long time, I'm not sure if anyone is actually playing this today. Anyway, I'm revisiting, and I tried to do some search and research. Was there a debate on how to shape Vulcan in Morrowind?

You know, race-stats-abbilities-specialties... I'm just curious how other people perceived that idea...

Cheers,

D

Morrowind still has a very active community. There are new mods being worked on, and being released, all the time.

There are a few small Star Trek mods over the years, but nothing that's really worth mentioning. Basically just the uniforms.
But why would there be a debate about such an obscure method of playing Morrowind? This is a RPG that is very far removed from the Sci-Fi world.
Morrowind is easy to mod, so anyone can play as they see fit.

If you want to roleplay as a Vulcan, I would suggest a Spear/Hand-to-Hand/Alchemy/Speechcraft build and go from there.

The High Elves are the closest to a Vulcan mindset, at least in this game. The are portrayed as aloof thinkers that do things in their own way. They could be a good stock race to fashion your logical problem solver character. But to go Vulcan, your pretty much going to have to find a race mod. But please don't get one that adds phasers or tri-corders to the game, we have Fallout for that. :) j/k, someone added light sabers to this game, so what the heck.

You could also try one of the mods that makes the NPCs look better. Then you could make a Vulcan looking NPC from probably a Bosmer, Elf or High Elf depending on which mod you select.

In response to Pluto: Vulcans as obscure method of play, I must say that I disagree sir, logic dictates fun.

In response to CCNA: I agree, High Elves are the closest resemblance of Vulcans, thought of maybe building a character as some sort of modified monk.

And I must say, it seems higly illogical that this wasn't tried by someone before, yet I can not find any traces of Vulcan activitiy up on this board. Must be that separation cliffs between SF nerds and Fantasy crowd is larger that I expected.

LLAP as they say

Not necessarily. Several people have written about about making Vulcans (and Klingons, ect) over the years. But you cannot find these posts now because threads only go back as far as 2009. Bethesda purges locked and inactive threads every few years.
