[RELz] Vurt's Bitter Coast Trees

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 3:20 pm

Maybe you should put mangroves not in the actual ocean areas off the coast, but in inlets instead.

EDIT...

For some reason, all I get is the infamous yellow exclamations for mangroves. HELP!

instead of having them in data files/meshes they need to be in data files/meshes/f

if you have any of my other mods you already have "f", if not you need to create that folder inside "meshes".

The two white things hanging hanging on http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/6879/mgescreenshot51.jpg also have collision, if you could remove the collision there as well that would be great. :)

I'll fix that for the next version/patch.

I just noticed on my laptop (with ATI 5650) that the bump mapped textures looked very http://piclair.com/data/a9qx7.jpg, very different from on my stationary computer (with 4870x2). Does it look like this for anyone else? If it's common i think i better decrease that effect, because it looks terrible. I've installed the latest MPC on my laptop so i don't think that's the problem..

Looks like a problem rendering the gloss material effect, I think. Maybe due to outdated drivers or something? I remember years ago when I had a laptop with a Radeon 7500 or something reflection maps would turn completely garbled if there were too many visible objects with reflection maps, which was really annoying when reflection maps became trendy.

I had a similar problem with your Ascadian Isles mod (in fact, I remember mentioning it a while back). I haven't noticed it with the Bitter Coast trees, but then again, I haven't played very much with them yet.

That Bright white effect is either the way the gfx card is rendering the reflection map, or possibly related to the bump map luminesence setting in the .nif....i'm betting on the reflection map though, and if thats the case, just take that reflection map, run a couple of blur passes over it, resave and try again, I bet it comes off less bright, and it should still look fine on your other machine as well. Hope that helps.

yeah i know what it is, its the Bump Map Luma Scale, it's not what im asking.. i'm just wondering why sometimes the effect looks normal (on my main) and on my laptop it looks extreme and very ugly :(

changing the texture for the reflection map wouldnt really help, it would look too vague on the main comp (where it looks decent/good as it is) and possible a bit better on the laptop but probably still too extreme..

I am willing to bet it is because you don't have MCP and the local lighting thing checked. ;)

Maybe I am wrong but it seems to be the most likely culprit to me.

I guess it could also be possible that its just a quirk of your mobile gfx card, and there is nothing that can be done about it, I mean, mobile gfx cards are never as robust as their desktop equivalents....

Thanks, they look very nice, but aren't those new trees a bit to tall? Especially in comparison to that hlaalu building.

It's not the trees that are too tall, it's the buildings that are too small :P

But yeah, my trees are quite tall, i like them that way + there's also less chance of them poking through a building etc somewhere when the branches are high up.

TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\f\Flora_BC_Tree_06.NIF" tex not found "textures\vurt_cypress_top3.dds"!TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\f\Flora_BC_Tree_06.NIF" tex not found "textures\vurt_cypress_sidebranch2.dds"!

So I got around testing them ingame...
Forget my last post, the tall trees compliment the rest very well actually. I think you forgot some textures though.

Thanks for the update! Fileplanet tells me that the file for the 0.8 update is missing. Did you take it down again?

Wow, how did I miss these?!?! I'd download it but my computer probably couldn't run the game with them activated. What would one expect for an FPS drop with these trees?
