This is the first time I had the change to download this and take a look at it. Excellent work as always.

Awesome new grasses, Vurt, they'll look impresive ingame ;)

Hi Vurt - I dl'd your latest groundcover file - it doesn't have an esp in it? So when I load it up into distant land I get some missing texture errors - am also getting same issue with Ascadian Isles trees and mayve Leafy West gash - I'll need to blow away my distant land meshes and do them one at a time to be sure - however was just wondering if you could provide some help in letting me know if I should have dl'd an earlier file as well?

Thanks

The latest Groundcover version is the "Complete version".. I just downloaded it and checked, it contains all the .esp's. you probably downloaded my texture pack, that's the only file there without an .esp.

My latest ascadian isles mod does not come with an .esp, just need to regenerate distant land, it's a pure replacer so all other mods will use my trees. For Leafy West Gash there should be an .esp that you must enable when you generate distant land and in the launcher. You don't need to download any earlier files.

Um... I'm sure your'e right - however have just downloaded again and still no esp

I'm downloading from PES - not sure if you have it on Nexus - anyway after looking through the files the one which had the description that sounded like it includes an esp is v12

Complete Version. Recommended. 512x512 textures. You only need this file if you want all parts.

Forgive me if I'm just being clueless but that sounded like it had everything?

I've dl'd part III - IV and see that has an esp in it - however I'm unclear whether I need to also install the other files I and II? In the changelog it sounds like part II just fixes part I? So I was unclear if they were different versions or modules?

In any case am looking forward to eventually getting to walk through them :)

Yes, just download the file that has "complete version" as a description (on PES) it's all you need :)

:) Yes but unfortunately it has no esp

Also the leafy West gash - the final file which says

1.0a Latest version.

Has no esp? However how does it work without an esp - as you have meshes with a unique Vurt ID? So how can they overwrite the Bethesda files if they have a different file name?

All the previous files say

outdated, download new version

I've dl'd the ground cover and the leafy west gash twice and both times there has been no esp for either?

thats very odd, i've checked them both just now, they both have .esp's... http://piclair.com/xrr01

seems to work for everyone else too.. i would suggest that you try another unpacker.. i use winrar myself.

Sigh - okay - I've tried using winzip which unpacks but generates an error (not that it tells me what it is) and ZipGenius which has always been very reliable for me in the past with extractions and neither seem to be finding the esps

I installed a trial version of Winrar and tried unpacking the groundcover and the leafy west gash - both times I got a message that says something like

! Desktop\Vurts_Leafy_West_Gash10a.rar: CRC failed in Data Files\Textures\vurt_brazbark3.dds. The file is corrupt
! Desktop\Vurts_Leafy_West_Gash10a.rar: Unexpected end of archive

So I seem to be dl'ing corrupt files? I'll try using a different browser to dl them but I suspect something is going wrong at the fileplanet end

Edit:typo

I'm trying to think of anything else I've dl'd from PES lately - I did get peachykeen's ssao yesterday and it worked - um but I don't think that was a winrar - nearly always I go to PES first for downloads and that's where i load mine too as well - if you were downloading from Pes to check for esp then it must of been working for you - I switched from Chrome to Firefox to pick up your nexus links - maybe it was the way Chrome handles downloads  Anyway I guess unless someone else makes a comment about file corruption it was probably something happening my end - maybe I should blame Apple for losing reception and demand a new bumper case for my PC - oops forgot I'm a Pc not a mac

I suspect it was the downloader on Chrome having problems with Fileplanet now - as I'm not experiencing this with Firefox?

Anyway I just wanted to say I managed to load up your Ascadian Isles and Groundcover mods successfully

When I turned on Distant land I wasn't sure whether to cry or wet myself

Here's http://a.imageshack.us/img836/2782/vurtsgrass.jpg

I found myself chasing the falling leaves and the little flies and just walking through the grasses going wow look at that!

When i finally walked over to the shrooms I was really blown away - they look like wild and alien and somehow remind me of wizard hats and looking up http://a.imageshack.us/img836/8412/vurtsshroom.jpg

Truly beautiful work - thank you so much for these great mods

I've just downloaded this, and I was really enjoying walking through the Ascadian Isles with the grass swaying peacefully and barely any FPS hit, untill I entered Balmora to find loads of areas (especially on the highest level where Caius Caussadius lives) covered in grass! It kind of spoilt the experience for me. Is it normally like this, or have I done something wrong (I loaded in the distant land generator, but not in game)? Is there any way to fix this? I was considering going into the CS to remove the stuff but with your grass loaded the render window takes 5 minutes just to turn the view around a tiny bit.

so now you can probably guess why it isnt perfect ;) I spent many hours cleaning away grass from areas in the game..

I like the tall grass in the slums. It makes it look unkempt, which it is :P

Lower your Clipping Distance in the CS.
File/Preferences, then move the View Distance further to the Left. (try it at the little dash under the letter "C" in "Clipping")

This won't eliminate the slow-down, but it will help alleviate it, thus making Exteriors much easier to edit.

yes, lowering the view distance helps a lot, the biggest problem is really the pure amount of grass to remove, but its far from impossible :)
