[RELz] Vurt's Leafy West Gash II

Vurt's Leafy West Gash II

Pluginless tree replacer for the West Gash region.

Installation:

Choose either "Foresty West Gash" for a more dense look (additional fir trees and bushes) or "Sparse West Gash" for better performance and a less dense looking region. If you leave out any of these you get the original meshes by Bethesda (which is roots), those will most probably NOT work well with my trees (untested).

"Optional thick Pine tree": A thicker varity of the tall pine tree, see comparison screen in the folder.

Copy "Data files" to your /Morrowind folder.

cool

you could replace the root meshes with MJY's invisible nif? or make your own.... lol.
thats what i did for my WG mod before i forgot about it.
that way the roots wouldn't exist? and i dunno.. just an idea :P

yeah, that's what "sparse west gash" means, no roots and no additional trees either.

not sure what you mean now :D it's already pluginless, the roots are invicible (its a tiny low-poly mesh that is far below ground so no one can see it) :)

wollibeebee: haha, it happens to even the best ;)

edit: updated to 0.1a, fixed placement (z axis) on several trees + made some trunks taller, straightened up some trees that were tilting too much.

Thank you very much for this mod and all your others!

I might humbly suggest one thing, it's helpful to name the Tesnexus files you upload with the mod name like "Vurts_Leafy_West_Gash_II_v01a" instead of just "01a" so people who download don't have to rename the files themselves and possibly confuse them. Anyway, thanks again.

Man I love Vurt's work! Thank you for uploading those. I saw them in the "Show us on what you are working" thread and was hoping you'd make a new thread just for them. I'm glad you include all your updated mods in your signature link.

Good suggestion, never really thought about that.

Let me know if you find something odd, like a particular tree that is always too low or too high, floating trees etc, or if you dislike a particular texture. You can always enter the console and click on a tree to find out its name.

I feel like my words would not do your new trees justice, so I'm gonna skip praise and say that I really appreciate all the hard work you're putting into improving the looks of the game. Thank you for another great release! :foodndrink:

Well, now the problem is that I also liked the first version - the dilemma is which one to chose... You are spoiling us, Vurt!

Here's a question: I happen to like more the thicker pine trees - are they interfering more (in a negative way) with other elements of the landscape (houses, roads, bridges, etc.) than the thinner version?

Cheers,
PKR.
