Vurt's Silt Strider Retexture

An old mod that i had lying around, never gotten around releasing it. It's a brush up of the old textures by Bethesda.

Did you know that the silt strider consists of about one billion textures? No? Now you do! (ok, there's "only" 15 of them actually...)

Fantastic! There really aren't enough Siltrider texture replacers, and I think this just became my new favourite. Have you considered adding "siltrider_dead" versions as well? It is something that seems to have been ommitted from very retexture I have seen. They appear to essentially be darker grey versions of the standard textures, which I could do for myself, but it would be nice to see what you would do with them.

Glad you like it. I might update the mod later on with the dead silt strider texture + fix the blurry part... i'd love to create my very own texture for it sometime instead of just partially altering it.

Nice! I was already using one (no idea where I got it from ages ago) but I like this one better!

This retexture is amazing. Every time I go to the port to take a silt strider, I find myself stopping to look at the things for a few seconds.

Great work, Vurt. Thanks a lot.

Very nice work! I've come across a few Silt Strider retextures, but they generally are little more than upscaled versions of the originals with a "detail" texture or two overlaid on top of it. Doesn't seem to be the case here, or at the very least, you've done an expert job at masking it. Downloading it as we speak. I like the additional wear marks, as well as how you've increased the amount of depth in the "ridges" of the Silt Strider's carapace. My only remark is that the ridges on its hindquarters do not seem to be as defined as you've done with the front and midsection, but perhaps it's just harder to tell due to the texture being stretched across larger polygons.

Yes that section is harder to make detailed because it's very stretched..

I think the texture is too cluttered with detail as it is now, i would have made a better job if i had cleaned up the original textures from most of its detail and then adding my own, i might redo it sometime :)

You know, that looks a lot like the concept art now that I think about it. Like, it almost looks hand-drawn.
