[WIPz] Vurt's Solstheim Tree Replacer

Post » Sun Feb 13, 2011 7:15 am

I am discovering this lately... Brilliant, as always.

Did you add some snow to only 1 tree model? (according to your Nifskope screen).

The actual release thread for this mod is http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1096522-relz-vurts-solstheim-trees-bushes-replacer/. In case anyone is having trouble locating it. I think vurt is on a modding break either way at the moment though.

I'm having a little problem with the Ascadian Isles Mod, & I can't find a current Relz for it so I" asking my question here.

I'm getting this message when I load the game " flora_tree_04.nif tex not found vurt_sunglare1.dds." Now I don't want the sunglaze .dds in my texture folder because I'm using the sunshaft shader .There seems to be a link between a few of the meshes in the the ascadian isles mod & sunglaze.dds .
I know I can make a workaround by using the blank dds file supplied with sunshaft v002 & renaming it vurt_sunglare1.dds but I hope there is a better option & that I'm just doing something silly ,thanks in advance for any help Beebee

First off, please refrain from double posting - just edit your last post if no one else has posted since. That will keep the thread alive that much longer and help vurt out by not requiring him to start a new one sooner than need be, thanks.

Regarding vurt_sunglare1.dds - this is a special texture used only by vurt's trees for environment mapping and has nothing to do with MW's sunglare (tx_sun_flash_grey_05.dds). Make sure that you install it in the '...\Data Files\Textures' folder. FYI: there's no MW texture called sunglaze.dds; most all MW stock textures (or textures specifically made to replace them) start with tx_ .

Regarding the count warnings - those are harmless and just indicate that MW attempted again to load the same texture multiple times after it was already loaded. You can safely ignore them. ;)

Hi Vurt,

I would like to report a problem with high trees having low branches: sometimes NPC, Player and creatures, when runing, may "climb" on those trees and be blocked at the top of the trees. It may be a problem with collisions of the branches. To reproduce this bug easily, you can provoke several hostile NPC and creature (ie: 6 to 8) and run trough Solstheim forest. Than you should be able to notice this issue very quickly.

Otherwise the mod is excellent, just missing more snow on trees and grass. But it's probably hard to do.

It's been explained earlier in this (or maybe an earlier thread). Basicly i wanted some trees to be climbable. I never had any problems getting down from the trees though when i tested it.. maybe i should remove it, i dont play the game, i mod it, so sometimes i can miss things like play related bugs/problems.

Oh sorry I did not see it reported in this thread.
According to my experience, the player cannot find a way to go down. I have to use the TCL command in the console.
When PNJ accidentally climb the trees, they are also not able to find any pathgrid and stay at the top of the tree, or at the extremity of a top branch.
