It's because they're bigger.

And they actually LOOK different. Not just in size, but style.
You actually notice the individual trees in the forest.
That's one thing I love about these tree replacers.

Unlike the vanilla ones which looked pretty much the same so after a while it just all becomes one easily forgotten mass.

it's a german mod called ULS "umfassende landschaftsgestaltung solstheim" that adds some other stuff as well. it contains http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=3084, maybe you will be lucky with this?

I would really advice against mods that adds more trees, you'll most likely get stuck a lot, it's really dense as it is..

Thanks for your nice and funny comments :foodndrink:

These recent screenshots remind me alot of the movie "Balto 2", very good attention to detail and toning (Colorization)

How do you pronounce your username? lol

Almost exactly like it's spelled.
zes-vot-zash-ni ("nee", should have made it ne instead of ni)

sin-kunn (Emphasis on the n's)-dai(Like "die" or "dye")-jar-eye

I wish German or alot of languages (Even English) was that simple, but either it has the funky upper ASCII letters that change the way it sounds or the pronunciation is never what it seems.

Thanks for the links! The one from TesNexus, the esp is smaller by a 1,403 bytes, or 11,224 bits. :P But that download link has screenshots included in the download file so it's a little bigger in overall size. I'm sure both esps are exactly the same and I most likely won't notice any difference between the two.

I'm not rushing this mod, i've had a really bad habbit of doing that and then releasing update after update :P I don't know, i'll release it when i'm satisfied with it ;)

http://piclair.com/data/290ed.jpg - finally getting a look i'm quite happy with. I've removed collision on the fir trees too (except for the trunks) so now it should be possible to use this mod with mods that adds more trees.

It might have been asked already, but are you also replacing the bushes and truncated tree trunks (The ones you see that have been cut down)?

I can't really remember how the trunkated trees look right now, if it they look really bad i'll do it. But yes, the bush(es?) definitely needs a new texture. I want to make a complete retexture of the region, took some nice ground texture photos a few days ago and some during the winter that would fit i think.

I think i'll generate some new grass and 3D bushes too for the greener part of the region. But we'll see :)

Since you're doing the snow on the ground, what about some parts that have paw prints in them? Like bear tracks. Although since it snows so much over there, they would be covered up by the new snow. Although, I guess you could pretend that a bear had recently trekked through there. Just an idea.
Haha, is there only one bush model for the entire bloodmoon expansion? Boy, Bethesda really slapped this expansion pack together.

Tes96,

yes, bear tracks would work, i run into a lot of bears all the time there hehe.. i could try that.

I think MGE's wind animation is very underappreciated when it comes to rendering the trees, its much better than the one i use for my trees. It's no problem adding collision for the trees either, in fact just did for this mod + i think letting MGE render the trees at all time instead of Morrowind is a performance gain. The "problem" with this is that people has to edit their override file and some will get confused about that sort of thing. But i think i'll go for it, i really like how the animations are synced to weather, it's great for Solstheim.

2 vids showing my trees with MGE's animations, especially the first vid shows the drastic change when the wind gets more intense..

I'd cobble my way through whatever I needed to for that, looks fantastic. And I can only imagine the performance gain, as you mentioned, having MGE simply handle the trees at all times.

Nice!!! :tops: I wonder if this kinda movement would work on other things too, like pieces of cloth hanging on a rope for drying, flags and banners, ropebridges....
