I will be honest, this comment will be a bit brisk. I wouldn't comment about it at all, if I didn't believe it to be the finest tribute to my favorite game, and finest set of armor from that game. This is something that could have easily looked like it came straight from Bethesda, as a DLC. And as such, I hope that no one involved develops hard feelings from it.

Earliest non archived threads I can find about this mod is here on http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=7979. From 7-31-07. http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=7979 This was posted shortly after the WIP thread.

I said back then that I loved the look, however expected it to be another thing that looked amazing from JCarl that we probably wouldn't see it in game. So it would be hard to stay excited over. Like the finished Guyver armor (not the bugged beta). I'm unfortunately seeing that still. People wonder how mods get so much time spent on them, then disappear without a release. I'm starting to realize that this is exactly how. No one can say that hours of labor hasn't been spent on this project by everyone involved. We see that being a 5th WIP thread, and a year in development.

But in it's essence... it is still a set of armor (and reworked weapons). A set of armor that was mostly finished in one form or another for close to a year now. I'm rational enough to understand that there's x version, y size... heavy, light and colored versions as well. Replacers, glowing versions, body mod sizes, etc. to boot. But when you have an idea... and then build a massive pyramid around that idea, people forget why it was there in the first place.

It's very disappointing that this armor didn't surface publically yet. And in some ways, I suppose this is a formal request to free the Vvardenfell armor from it's very dusty footlocker. I imagine that a lite version containing just the normal armor itself, would satiate even the most rabid of believers.

^^^ Yeah, I'd like to basically second this. I've been off Oblivion and these forums in general for over a year now and it was kind of disheartening to see the mod I had tracked most isn't out yet. :P

That said, I hope you take your time with the quest; the Lost Paladin one was awesome!

I agree with the two posters above..

I understand what you have said, but its been more than a year and despite how promising an extra quest will look, it's getting harder to get excited over it because it doesn't seem even seem like its close to being released. I had similar fears with tda's armoury before he decided to release in the form of "betas" but i suppose it is your work and jcarls and we will keep waiting =)

Still alive and on the operating table. Currently occupied in Fallout 3 trying to finish the main quest. ;) I'm level 20 and just became an enemy to the Enclave in the storyline...although I have not been able to play it for a few days though.

Somebody may have already asked this, but I'm too impatient to read all of this thread :-P

Anyway, I notice both of your shields look *essentially* like the Glass Tower Shield from Morrowind, and I wondered if you had any intention to create the other shield too? Just wondered, and these look amazing ;-) Good Luck!

The design of the model has to account for visibility or it will look very odd when transparency is applied to the texture.

http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/128909-1205723293.jpg of a Glass Claymore in its original unmodified state, then with transparency applied to the texture only and then a modified model that accounts for transparency and includes geometry inside the model (showing the non-transparent parts...the insides). Here is another example using a http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/128909-1198429833.jpg.

Send me a PM and I will explain the basics on how to do this.

I have a nice long beard since last time I visited this topic. I hoped for a beta in the winter vacantion, but it didn't happened.
Now I'm sitting here wondering when? :P How much longer are you going to "torture" us like this?:D

Can I at least beg for a beta?
