I will be honest, this comment will be a bit brisk. I wouldn't comment about it at all, if I didn't believe it to be the finest tribute to my favorite game, and finest set of armor from that game. This is something that could have easily looked like it came straight from Bethesda, as a DLC. And as such, I hope that no one involved develops hard feelings from it.
Earliest non archived threads I can find about this mod is here on http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=7979. From 7-31-07. http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=7979 This was posted shortly after the WIP thread.
I said back then that I loved the look, however expected it to be another thing that looked amazing from JCarl that we probably wouldn't see it in game. So it would be hard to stay excited over. Like the finished Guyver armor (not the bugged beta). I'm unfortunately seeing that still. People wonder how mods get so much time spent on them, then disappear without a release. I'm starting to realize that this is exactly how. No one can say that hours of labor hasn't been spent on this project by everyone involved. We see that being a 5th WIP thread, and a year in development.
But in it's essence... it is still a set of armor (and reworked weapons). A set of armor that was mostly finished in one form or another for close to a year now. I'm rational enough to understand that there's x version, y size... heavy, light and colored versions as well. Replacers, glowing versions, body mod sizes, etc. to boot. But when you have an idea... and then build a massive pyramid around that idea, people forget why it was there in the first place.
It's very disappointing that this armor didn't surface publically yet. And in some ways, I suppose this is a formal request to free the Vvardenfell armor from it's very dusty footlocker. I imagine that a lite version containing just the normal armor itself, would satiate even the most rabid of believers.
