A beta would be good, but I am sure he will finish this one up ;)

*Goes to the cupboard for a bat just in case*

Grab two. Wal-Mart's closed over here.

Wouldn't do any good, sadly. :(

Been busy. Project is still alive though.

EDIT: Regarding a pre-release, please see http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?s=&showtopic=844726&view=findpost&p=12460151.

Very good to hear, I'd hate for another exceptioanl project to fall to the wayside and be lost :(

Is it possible to prerelease the textures and meshes for those of us who wish to only overwrite the existing glass armor?

more like a year, honestly.

It's a crime to not release this as at least a replacer first. I'm at my business right now, like I am every day of my life (for the most part), so if anyone understands lack of time, it's me. But to hold off even a replacer release for this long is borderline absurd. It feels like we've been trying to keep updated on Darkfall or Duke Nukem Forever, instead of an armor mod.

Agreed, thats all I really want as well, no special quests, red, blue or purple armors, just a replacer really.

I admire the modder for wanting to put all the extra effort in, but with what has been completed so far, I can't really see a reason why the replacers can be released before the full mod he is working on.

In any case I think it would help the mod in the overall as people would be even more exited for the full version.

He probably does not want his work being used as modder's resources by others until the complete version is ready.

Granted - but when you have put the amount of time and effort that they have already it is hard to release parts of it when you have a vision of doing more with it !! It's just a shame that many of the users for the mod will have moved on to other games (perhaps TESV by the time this releases :poke: ) before getting a chance to use it !

Woah, this hasn't been finished yet?!

And you don't need to make things transparent. In TES lore, the glass used to make glass armor is from volcanic glass, and is not like the silica-based glass used for windows and dishes and such.

Pah I say.

New quests are always sorely needed, especially at so late an hour in Oblivion's day. Lhammonds: Take your time and make it sweet.

I'm sorry for not getting this cranked out. This is primarily the work of JCarl and Grimdeath regarding the model and texture work on the armor which is mostly complete but with a heavy set 1/2 finished (which may or may not make the cut).

The ONLY reason JCarl handed this to me was for the quest part to make it a "fun" mod rather than having it set in a barrel.

Again, I will NOT release this armor in that fashion. I have made a promise to JCarl and will not go back on my word. Hobby time has been quite rough and I have been working multiple jobs to help pay for the house addition that is underway right now and have not even touched my PC since early January. This obviously puts a damper on my projects but they will get done.

Thanks for understanding,
LHammonds

Please, take your time with this. I'd rather see a great mod later than a rushed, crappy one sooner. :)
Awesome job so far!

What really kills me about this mod is the strong sense of scope creep I get from reading the WIP threads. I get the feeling that if that could just be brought under control, there really wouldn't be all that much left to do, which would not only be a strong motivator, but it would allow Conan_Lon to churn it out quickly and effectively when/if he finally returns to the project. I understand the desire to make this a really classy epic mod, but more isn't always better.

Your new house is looking great, RL must always take precidence, I'm one of the unlucky few many that is unemployed at the moment, so if you need a hand (with mods, not the house, sorry), let me know.

That sounds like an excellent suggestion. Perhaps you should send a PM.

AngryYoungDunmerSyndrome, the whole reason Jcarl904 pass this onto me was to make a great mod that was fun to play. Creeping the scope was the whole point. Unfortunately, things changed in my life that didn't allow me to have as much free time as I enjoyed while making my initial mods such as Lost Paladins and Silver Dragon. However, during this project, I have learned how to modify and create my own models which adds a while new level of fun creating mods but again, life has a way of changing priorities. The "scope" however has not increased after I was happy with the vision of how this mod needed to be created.

Dan Irenicus, thanks. I might very-well be joining you in the unemployment franchise. The hospital I work closely with might be taken over by a "competitor" and have its doors closed very soon which directly impacts my clinic and physicians. It is unknown if we are going to do if the hospital is bought out. ** shrug ** Anyways, I appreciate the offer. Send me a PM and let me know what skills you have to offer. I could use the help.

Oh, I actually had a bit of free time this morning and made a quick modification to the heavy shield by adding some more shards to the body.

Those new shields look excellent! I'm still waiting for the completion of this mod, and will definitely download and install it right away when it's released. The vanilla glass armor meshes are extremely dull when compared to their MW counterparts, but you're the only modder who has tackled this issue since Oblivion was released, so I really appreciate the effort. :)

Edit: Missed a letter.

This project (well, all my projects) is on hold again until I fix my PC which is currently dead as a door nail. I suspect that it's just a bad PSU. I have to wait until I get some more contract money in before I can buy another PSU (hopefully that is all that is wrong) since I just blew my hobby money on a shiny new copy of CrazyBump. :D

I will update this thread again after I get the PC back online. (Will also create another Lost Paladins thread too)
