Vvardenfell RP idea, please read and consider

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:00 am

The basic idea of this RP is playing through Vvardenfell during the Oblivion Crisis. The entire island is surrounded by a circle of fire making it impossible to go to the island or leave it. Teleportation via Mages Guild pads outside or inside to the island is also impossible. Trying to go over or under the circle of fire will result in pain. So to make it short you're stuck on the island.

Because of this the Legion has set up martial law. The people are in a panic with random gates popping up and sending raiding parties of Daedra who capture people and destroy villages. As the Legion you would try to maintain peace, fight off the hordes and maintain order. You'd have to keep the other houses from ripping each other apart due to various other reasons. House Hlaalu is getting very nervous that their supply of ebony and glass can not be shipped. The Redoran are being assaulted strongly by the Daedra and the Telvanni seem as always apathetic to the well being of most while curious of the gates themselves. The atmosphere would be very tense and "confined". No one knows what is going on or how long this will last.

You would be part of one of the major factions (more may be added) such as the Legion, and the three Great Houses. Each faction would have unique goals but would be highly open ended. Basically imagine this as being Elder Scrolls Oblivion: Vvardenfell expansion.

Looking for some suggestions, opinions, ideas etc. Seems the Rose Wolf RP has turned inactive and I need a 2nd RP to RP in. I'd be looking for at least 8 dedicated people before even considering to start this up. I may or may not regardless.

This actually sounds pretty cool, though the idea of circle of fire around the island I think is somewhat suspect. You just make it where the ports have been whacked. Brining a boat large enough to transport people onto shore, especially with Tamriel's techonology level, would be incredibly difficult, so you wouldn't have to worry about escapees.

Overall, the idea is quite good.

I wanted to add this feeling of impeding doom to the point of those on Vvardenfell don't even know if there is a Tamriel left or if it all just fell off the face of the planet. It wasn't just there to keep people on the island, but if you guys think it's a bit over the top that can be scaled back no problem.

Thanks for the comment.

Well, that is just me. I tend to be pretty tradtional when it comes to things like that. But I could go either way.

Would this be pre or post "Ald'Ruhn got owned!"?

Pre, but it would be an event in the RP. I was thinking of having someone RP the Dremora general responsible for this theatre of the invasion and they would PM me different locations to open gates to raid, the largest being in Ald'Ruhn.

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. Only thing I'd add is maybe letting people from the guild factions (Fighter's, Mage's, Thieve's) join in as well, just for a little more openess with character generation. After all, I doubt too many 'outlanders' would be parts of Redoran and Telvanni. But, that's just me.

With that and Verlox's suggestion in mind, looks good.

I'd love this! I have a variety of people I could use, or I could make a new one for the occasion like I used to always do before I got halfass lazy.

I think Vvardenfell during the Crisis is a subject that's got a lot of potential but has been underused, so I'd be happy to join up. Especially with the legendary ImmortalBlood at the helm.

My one worry with adding too many factions is that too many people will be spread out. I want the inter house fued to be just as much of a factor in the RP as the crisis. I just sort of think of it as wild west meets atilla the hun meets the godfather. Very hectic but the old issues are still there.

I don't know what do you guys think? Should I open up the guilds? Maybe if more people join?

I might give it a shot, if you all will accept me. I have always wanted to create a Dunmer mage, but never got around to it.

Well, I've looked at it, and guilds are usually located in a Great House city, so it isn't totally farfetched that a fighters guild memeber and a Redoran would be pals.

And with the feuding, I don't see why Imperial guilds wouldn't hire themselves out.

Where do I sign up?

Semi-political, semi-adventure, semi-war RP by ImmortalBlood without the uber-assassin cheesyness of Wolf of the Rose Field?

I'm in. Dedicated.

I very much like the prospect of Wild West themes. The darkness, the gritty realism and the general aura of horror in the background. Exactly what it was like playing Morrowind for the first time... Hla Oad, Gnaar Mok, the Camonna Tong, the Sixth House... It all segues wonderfully. Love it!

Cheesyness :P hey the Altair copy cats got scared away. I really think that RP has great potential but it falls under this stereo type which is like trying to lift a 50 ton boulder off of yourself. =/

I couldn't help taking the piss. :P

In any event, I'm greatly anticipating this Vvardenfell thing. A suitable substitute until High Rock. :D

I'd be happy to do that, you know from SoS that i like to burn people, Ra'Gada impaticular. And im active enough to do it properly.

I like the overall idea, but i never played Morrowind, so my first instinct is to play a faction not in that game (since im not familiar with them) But being a Dremora General would be cool with me, I would even make concept art for a different looking Daedric armour so i dont have to put up with the crude look they have already... Heh.

Let me know on IM and i'll start writing a sheet.

Hey I love this idea, I've become a bit of an unknown name on here now as I stopped RPing a while back but I've since realy missed it and have been keeping a secret eye on the forums for anything worth my time. I think I failed before because I went through a stage of making "special" characters but I'm beginning to learn that svcks so I'd really like to get back into it with a "normal" character of sorts.

I think this one stuck out mainly because its on Vvardenfell and I'm getting a bit sick of RPing in Cyrodiil.

I have plenty of time on my hands at the moment and almost 24/7 access to the internet so I reckon I could do this. My only other interest in RP at the moment is End of an Era but I've been waiting patiently for about a year to get back on it so if you'd have me I'd like to join this too. And NOT be special hehe, and if you want any idea input just pick my ever so dead brain. :P

PS: Wow i used "I" alot.

I would definitely put myself in the "Yes" category. I've always wanted to see Vvardenfell during the OC. And it also gives me a chance to actually develop my characters back story for when SoS shifts to Cyrodiil (yeah, yeah, 3 years and a couple chapters from now, both in the timeline and in real life :P). RP'ing it out definitely beats making it up on a sheet.

Nobody would vote no for this, because there is no reason to vote no... Anyway, I might join as a Khajiit mage, of the Alfiq-Raht variety. Has a very telvanni-esque attitude toward the events, but may or may not be an actual member of the Great House (since they rarely see khajiit as anything other than slaves... Unless this one proceeded to fry any Telvanni who wanted to argue the point)

14...

I'm in :D , personally I think most people should have some house/legion affiliation, whether it be as a member or hireling. From your description it sounds as though most private services would have stopped so it makes sense that anyone available with useful talents would be conscripted by the local government.

Also I'm slightly confused about the role we'll be playing, will we be going around as individuals or controlling armies or what? The character I have in mind at the moment doesn't work for commanding troops....

Probably have both types. Like you could be a lowly member of Redoran and command nothing but be a solo.

It would be kinda boring if we were all Grandmasters and Knights of the Imperial Dragon.

Someone voted no.......

Make that 15 yes. This is a perfect opportunity for me to RP Almalien some more, maybe create another character for the Morrowind part of the IBT.
