[RELz/Beta] Vvardenfell Imports

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:40 am

VVardenfell Imports

Description
============
Adds a shop called Vvardenfell Imports to Cheydinhal that sells Morrowind-style armor sets.

Requires: Shivering Isles.
==========================

Location
========
When entering Cheydinal through the West Gate, turn immediately to your right. The shop is the first one down the path, located next to the guar pen.

There are rumors a Khajiit is dealing black market items on premises (psst ... check the bookcases).

Details
=======
My interpretation of almost EVERY armor set included in TES Morrowind GOTY (and plenty more). If it's morrowind related, it's probably in here.

This mod includes (in no particular order):
===================
bonemold (retex)
stahlrihm (retex)
dreugh (retex plus various helms)
nordic mail
high indoril (retex)
royal guard
nordic ringmail (various under armor choices)
nordic iron (various under armor choices)

7+ cephlapod helms
7+ redoran watchmen helms
various facemasks (closed and open)
various hoods/cowls to match
random hats and coats

plus
==========

This mod started as a simple retex of Ghogiel's MW armor sets and grew into an homage to MW (my favorite game)and to the community itself.

Just a little nitpick: I downloaded the second part and found that you marked "Data" as "Data files" (too much Morrowind? :V). I know where stuff goes, but that might be confusing to noobs.

Part 1 up.

This mod has a pretty confusing file structure (everything is in different locations). Hopefully the Data mistake is the only one.

I guess I should post on this thread more.

Do we have a link to the mega upload file?

So, there's only one file right now. Didn't you say there were going to be two?

There are two files that are required

part 1 and part 2 look under mirror section once again.

I only see one file in the Tesnexus download.

EDIT: Ah, I see now.

Wow great job man, finally it's out, and everything looks amazing!

But one question, is it compatible with Better Cities?

I don't think so as the store is in cheydinhal

Just so everyone knows the black market items are sold by a khajit in the store (you'll have to find him ... it's not very tough).

As for the halloween treat I mentioned try putting on the autumn watcher armor with the pumpkin jack helm. :mohawk:

Sorry for the confusion tissuebox, should have told you to check the tesnexus link above, not file.

I just inquired on the Open Cities forum about a patch for this. Maybe something will come of it, maybe something won't ^_^

Wonderful stuff! Many thanks for this.

Haven't actually got around to trying it out in-game yet, but I've just been nosy at a few pieces in Nifskope and they look amazing. Particularly loving the Netch Leather stuff!

:tops:

Edit: Oh, and quick bit of feedback - just while nosing around in Nifskope I've noticed that that greaves.nif in the Netch mesh folder is looking for its texture in somewhere called the gravy boat! :D

Hey man, without compatibility with Better Cities, you'll lose a whole lot of downloaders, including me. Maybe you could put the shop somewhere outside of Cheydinhal, on the road to Cheydinhal maybe.

Yeah that's a duplicate mesh (should have deleted it). The real greaves are listed as netchgreaves I believe (as opposed to just greaves).

I'm officially retired from modding (other than doing some bugfixes with this mod).

If someone else wanted to move the store that's fine. There is a chest in the testinghallcell with every tiem in it (not sure if that's a viable alternative).

No reason to not download. You could still add the armors in via the Construction Set. Which is as easy as pie, mind. Took me twenty minutes to go through the basic CS tutorials available at the CS Wiki.

EDIT: I was going to drop the store into the external worldspace pending no reply from the OC thread. So Open Cities people can enjoy. :thumbsup:

Seconded! It has only been recently where I've got around to learning some CS, Nifskopery and texturing basics, and I'm having a blast. Was planning on picking out a few of my favourite armours from this mod and scattering them around Cyrodil via the CS - I do love a challenge when grabbing some new goodies to wear. :D

I spent quite a lot of time learning how to add items to leveled lists last night for this and I still don't know anything <_< I learned basic scripting but I don't think thats going to be enough for such a large project.
In case people don't know what I'm talking about, in the wipz thread I said I was going to work on an esp that adds these armors into the leveled list.
If anybody who knows even a little could check this http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1039932 that I made in the construction set forum and lend me some advice or answer some questions it would be much appreciated.

Alright back on topic.
The armors look great in game. And I think it's alright that you had to upload them to megaupload because the downloads are faster. I think Nexus tops off at 150kbs. Anyways, I like the shop too. Finally I can make my character look cool without over-powering armor! It must have been a hell of a lot of a work doing all this. I'm not going to play without these armors anymore.

Ravin

EDIT: If I do end up making one, I would either:
1) Send it to themythofstrider for him to upload as an optional file on the Nexus page
2) If he doesn't want to do that, I'll upload it as it's own file on Nexus for anyone who wants it.

If everything has been properly bugtested and works smoothly I wont' have a problem posting it.

That being said, I encourage everyone to be creative with this mod, you cna do whatever you wish with all the items as long as you give proper credit. Retex, remesh, revalue, whatever.

Congratz on release, man! :thumbsup:

Though I do believe the somewhat limited presentation of the main post doesn't do the mod and the work you put into it much justice.

So? Let the folks at Better Cities worry about that, I'm sure that there are still some unused doors available, or doors that lead to "ahem" less interresting shops or places. If every modder starts taking Better Cities or Unique landscapes into account it will be the death penalty for creativity.

Words spoken from a true master :)

That is so true. If every person worried about mods like QTP, better cities, UL, or other big and favorite mods, and used that excuse to not use other mods, then that would certainly kill creativity and most oblivion modding as it is.

OP: Nice mod, had been waiting for this. I love your halloween suggestion as I now use that on my character :P Good work.

That is very generous of you. :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to bring Morrowind's armors in Cyrodiil. :D

:foodndrink: My thoughts exactly.

My other thought? My thief needs that Netch Leather armor. :D

Thanks for this!
