[RELZ] Vvardenfell Imports (thread 2)

Post » Mon Dec 13, 2010 7:17 pm

Description
============
Adds a shop called Vvardenfell Imports to Cheydinhal that sells Morrowind-style armor sets. http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1039825

Requires: Shivering Isles.
==========================

Location
========
When entering Cheydinal through the West Gate, turn immediately to your right. The shop is the first one down the path, located next to the guar pen.

There are rumors a Khajiit is dealing black market items on premises (psst ... check the bookcases).

Details
=======
My interpretation of almost EVERY armor set included in TES Morrowind GOTY (and plenty more). If it's morrowind related, it's probably in here.

This mod includes (in no particular order):
===================
bonemold (retex)
stahlrihm (retex)
dreugh (retex plus various helms)
nordic mail
high indoril (retex)
royal guard
nordic ringmail (various under armor choices)
nordic iron (various under armor choices)
nordic bearskin
nordic fur
vvardenfell iron
vvardenfell steel
vvardenfell orcish
vvardenfell ebony
sixth house gear (lots)
house telvanni deathdealer gear
house redoran gear (hetman)
house hlaalu gear (councilor)
almalexia battle armor
vivec battle armor
sotha sil battle armor
netch (with without backpack)
boiled netch
adamantium
netch adamantium (plus coats)
imperial steel (two versions)
templar (two versions)
imperial chainmail
imperial spearman
shalk armor
morag tong gear
darkbrotherhood gear (light and heavy)
mw silver
duke's guard
dragonscale
studded leather
newtscale
legendary vvardenfell artifacts
fabricant
bear/wolf
snow bear/snow wolf
7+ cephlapod helms
7+ redoran watchmen helms
various facemasks (closed and open)
various hoods/cowls to match
random hats and coats

plus (3 of my favorite mw armor sets included unaltered with permission from the authors)
==========
helborne's chitin armor and weapons
mcmuffin's daedric lord armor
cryo's indoril

This mod started as a simple retex of Ghogiel's MW armor sets and grew into an homage to MW (my favorite game)and to the community itself.

Please if you find any other bugs let me know.

I'd like to see these items put in the leveled lists (in proper fashion ie no groups of bandits running around with sotha sil's holy battle armor). Unfortunately I don't have the know how and or time and or willpower. If you'd like to take that on please let me know.

New thread.

So I'm having a problem uploading to tesnexus (still). File usually times out 2 or 3% in with ie and firefox. Any ideas?

It could be something on the TESnexus side of the transfer, there's been trouble in the past with big files. And small too, for that matter. Better stick with the mirror sites to be on the safe side.

That's disappointing. I guess planetelderscrolls with have to be this mod's final resting place, as megaupload files expire after 90 days (could be making that up).

part 1 of your upload at PES is corrupt- tried 3 times and still get a damaged file notice.

Have you tried to pm Buddah or Darkone yet and ask for ftp upload instead of browser based.

...FileFront is good..

No I have not. But I will be sure to do it :D

Aelwyn: I haven't gotten around to uploading a final version at pes yet so please use the mirrors at tesnexus until further notice (you can find the links in the first post).

In the previous thread, someone was thinking about making a smallish patch to make this most wondrous mod compatible with Open Cities. Does anyone know if that will materialise, or are we going to have to do such a patch ourselves? No that I can't do it, it's just more comfortable if someone else did it...

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KVZJCLUO - The patch file for moving the store outside of Cheydinhal.

Arthmoor made this patch. I don't have open cities so i couldn't try it out.

I'm assuming you load this esp after the mainfile or addon

Thanks. Probably spent the most time texturing those sets.

I was the one who brought the leveled list thing up. I learned how to do most of it with the CS and if I make it, it'll be my first mod. Unless I can get permission, I won't be including slof's armors in the list.
Let's just say bad stuff happened to the laptop that I used as my main PC so I don't have Oblivion installed right now. I'm getting a bare bones PC from a friend and next paycheck I'm going to be buying a video card and some RAM for it. Don't rely on me for it though, I'm just using this as a way to learn my way around the CS for my own personal benefits at the moment. I intend to release it for testing if all goes well.

I think I'm pretty much done modding at the moment, unless some really great mesh resource comes out that needs texturing, ie boiled netch helm.

I had some thoughts about making all the mw weapons to match, but I dont' think I could stomach another big project like that.

did you create a lot of your own textures? or did you use mostly existing/mix&match textures

I usually took high res macro photos and doctored them in photoshop. Some textures are from other sources such as ghogiel's mw release or oblivion. Just to keep continuity.

It was actually kind of fun ... looking through pictures of squids and bones and various grungy metals. Could just be me. :blink:

Allright, I've been testing the OC compatibility patch Arthmoor made. The exterior parts load allright, as can be seen in these two pics: http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/igerup/Untitled38.png and http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/igerup/Untitled39.pngBut the interior needs some editing as you can see here: http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/igerup/Untitled43.png and http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/igerup/Untitled44.png

The missing/invisible clothes could be due to some mod conflict on my end. As for the other stuff, well I have to check the esp in the CS. Could just be wrong file-path entries in the esp.

:embarrass: He, I did apparently not copy all the meshes/textures to correct folders. Oh well, hapens to us all. :lol:

Maybe you could upload it to at least one more site (like PES, or maybe TES Alliance). Currently, there's only one free server with 1147 users on Nexus ! And if it goes down...

The OC compatibility patch works allright. Just make sure of the correct load order. The patch directly after the Vvardenfell_Imports.esp.

Thanks Iggey, :thumbsup:

I appreciate all the effort. I'll upload the patch to tesnexus for now (pes later).

As far as uploading the files to another site ... Once I finally get around to compiling a final version of the mod I'll upload it to planetelderscrolls and then contact buddah to have it placed on the tesnexus servers.

If you know someone or are someone that knows how to properly merge items into leveled lists please contact me at your convenience. :twirl:

Just add to the* existing lists and add {{BASH:Delev,Relev,}} to the description and it will be merged when rebuilding Bashed patch.

*either directly or creating your lists and adding them to vanilla lists (better imho).

This shop has to be one of the best - if not THE best - shop. Thanks again for all the armors and weapons. They're great.

Thanks Mercer!

It's nice to know someone's out there enjoying this stuff (other than me that is).

So I decided to play through oblivion one more time (as it's been a year or two) and it's given me a chance to toy around with some of the armor sets in game. For the most part I'm pretty pleased. I do wish I would have stuck with slof's hood mesh as opposed to the altair hood (though it is cool). Just too much clipping going on.

Also apologies for a bit of laziness on my part. I still have yet to put together a final version of the mod and load it up to pes and tes. Sorry sorry. It'll get done eventually. For now you'll just have to do the legwork and download from the mirrors and apply the patch.

Anywhooo,

Happy Holidays all. Hope 2010 is good to you.
