Vvardenfell or Solstheim

For me what it comes down to is this: if I'm going to be uncomfortable, I would prefer to be uncomfortably cold rather than uncomfortably hot.

Amen, brother

Vvardefell! So diverse and not so cold and snowy. Not to mention I never did like the Skaal. Beside I can't stomp on squibs in Soltheim.

I guess you should not move here to Arizona then.

My answer to the original question is Vvardenfell*. It's simply more varied and exciting. While Solstheim has some kind of tranquil beauty (as tranquil as it can get with nearly all inhabitants being crazy killers), there is not much to keep me interested.

Spoiler
*...if we ignore this Ministry of Truth mishap for a moment. That's a bit too interesting.

It's funny you should say that because I lived in Tucson for two years. Four years in Las Vegas before that. I thought Tucson was actually pretty nice (I especially liked it in the spring and during the monsoon season) but words cannot express how much I loathed Las Vegas. Needless to say, I did not buy Fallout: New Vegas. ;)

Solstheim, because snow and forest and bears and all. but i do want to be able to get back to Vvardenfell time to time too, as the island is great place to explore if you manage to stay away from the said politics and the drama and all that. :D

Vvardenfell, because it has Suran, and that has the House of Earthly Delights. :hubbahubba:

I prefer Vvardenfell because it's simply more interesting. I do like the terrain, trees & weather of Solsthiem however; I wish it were larger, with more towns and dungeons. Remember....it was only an expansion. I like Solsthiem a heck of a lot more than Mournhold.
Maybe and hopefully Skyrim will have a Solsthiem feel in TES V.....only better.

Seconded :foodndrink:

Yes but so was Shivering Isles, and that′s a pretty big place :)

Solstheim all the way. In fact, I even go so far as to place my mark at the factors estate in Raven Rock and use Balizars Mazed Band to get to Mournhold and when I need to get back to Solstheim I just recall, cutting Vvardenfell out completely.

Vvardenfell. Solstheim is fun for a bit, but gets a little monotonous for me after awhile. I do love the Nord architecture in the Skaal village though.

I just got into the Bloodmoon expansion, and I'm liking it so far a lot. But Vvardenfell just has that feeling like I belong there, and probably as previously said the home-iest place i've ever found in a video game.

I have to agree with this, although I still prefer Solstheim. It feels more free in a way. Except the fort in the south there′s no Imperial influence on the island, nor influences from the Houses. And Uncle Sweetshare′s hut is a welcome sight after a tiresome battle with those darn rieklings

Vvardenfell is way more interesting to look at, by a HUGE margin. Seriously, Solstheim is pretty enough but it's all just snow, ice and trees.

Solstheim does have a plus point in that it's more challenging than Vvardenfell. It doesn't take long before 90% of Vvardenfell is completely unthreatening to an adventurer (vanilla game, not modded).

So true. Even now at lvl 48 or so I still keep a few emergency potions and my most powerful weapon with me when taking a stroll around Solstheim. It′s usually no problem, I can handle a few rieklings and spriggans. But a werewolf is not a picnic

It's a close call but I'd have to say Vvardenfell, even though I really enjoy the winter climate on Solstheim.

Why anyone would pick Solstheim is beyond me. It's just cells and cells of ice, or forest - simply inferior to the complex and wonderful variations of environment offered. And there are no Gods on Solstheim. Or Daedric shrines. Or alive Bosmer. Or Telvanni. Or Balmora. Or anything interesting.
