[RELz] Vvardenfell Visages Volume I

Post » Tue Aug 10, 2010 11:55 am

Absolutely beautiful!

Can I ask who makes the 1HS faces? They are incredible.

UQForgotten made the faces starting with 1HS.

If you're looking for more of them for PCs, you can find them here:

http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=624068&hl=

I'll be adding more of UQForgotten's faces in Volume II.

I sorta think all the faces are great myself. The hair too. There are some great artists in the Morrowind mod community...

But I like getting you started. It's fun to watch :)

Now you're just mocking me. For shame! :nono:

Hmm, now what would a "time out" for an EFAI be like? Or somesuch punishment. For the rest of the day you are only allowed to run Windows 95. No complaining, or I'll take away all your peripherals as well!

Back on topic: I took out the replacer I was just using and now I'm just running Visages I; such a huge improvement!

I agree! I just had time to look at it, and I'm very impressed by this, Tele. Just from the small bit of running around I did, it makes such a huge change, especially knowing there's not a massive esm file behind it all. You've really done a great job here. :)

Woohoo new faces!

Unfortunately I already have a bunch of face replacers merged together with some other stuff so I'm not sure how much effect it will have in my current savegame. In any case, thanks!

Edit: at least I can install it without problems thanks to the no esp thing :P

Ode to the EFAI

There was an AI called Tele
Who said "Eww! How ugly and smelly
are the faces in-game
if now I did the same
they'd look like those folks off the telly."

Belated congratulations and thanks.

And a round of beer for a clear readme that actually explains how to get your mod to play nicely with others.

SHADOW98FL ==> Yup, Volume II. And III which will be worked on at the same time ;)

GREN ==> You know that teacher "time out" stuff doesn't work with me. I'm definitely not upgrading to Vista though :meh: I'm glad you found out that VVVI works pretty well as a stand alone replacer.

CRAIGOR ==> Thanks!

MONICA21 ==> Play some more. That would make me happy if people played more. Not to mention it's good for modding in the CS because you'll always see the new faces now instead of the original default ones.

AGED HIPPY ==> Welcome, and nice to see some new faces in this thread :)

MORGAINELEFAY ==> It's nice when there's so many resources to use both past and present, especially getting unreleased heads from UQForgotten and Westly's wonderful new textures for the heads of his I used in this.

SNARGELFARGEN ==> That's one of the mice things about using this mod, yes. No worries about conflicts.

PRINCESS_STOMPER ==> That's a hoot!

LARISSA MEM ==> Belated? It's been less than two days in circulation. I don't think you're late to the release party :foodndrink: I'm glad the readme is easily understood. Not too hard to make this mod play nicely with others when there's no plugin to get in the way...

ZANDERAT ==> It's useful that way, yup. For new mods, for working in the CS, and any covering any missed faces including the expansions.

I've played around with this a little so far, and everything looks good, Tele! And Westly's new Redguard ear is a definite improvement. :goodjob:

Can't believe you actually gave me a credit on this, though. I think it may be my first official credit yet. (Haven't actually checked the final readme for Spirited' Thirst Retreat.) Does this mean I'm an official modder now?

Thanks for all your hard work on this, and thanks to all the modders who contributed faces to it. Beer for all! :foodndrink:

I'm getting there, I'm getting there. :) But I had the whole, "haven't played in awhile, no idea what I have installed" problem. Then I had to do a clean install, find those mods that I always meant to play but never got around to do, get some good graphics replacers, yadda yadda yadda. My new "official" character (not the one I started just to go site-seeing) is still in Seyda Neen, unfortunately. :embarrased:

Westly's ears are much better methinks since they were the ones forgotten to be updated in Gorg's mods.

Credit where credit is due, no worries. I actually have a setup where all I play are mods that I've been mentioned in, mods I've made, or required mods ir updates for the ones I was credited with. And it's sort of inspirational methinks. I remember when I first started getting mentions in mods like Metal Queen Boutique, Balmora Expansion, or VA's mods and I was like "woah, that's cool..."

Anywho, there were some great contributions to this and they deserve the thanks.

I've spent a week or more in Seyda Neen before, so no worries. Waits-For-Oblivion quickly returned to the Bitter coast area and is still around Seyda Neen completeing tasks.

Nope, no pedestals for me. I don't make a good statue. You can put the modders whose works I used up on a pedestal though. They deserve the real credit and did a whole lot more hard work than I did. A mod of this nature is only as good as the resources used and I was provided with some great ones. Managed not to mess it is about all I did...

Have fun playing ;)

Does anyone know exactly why Riptide's replacer is dependant on Better Heads? Does it need it just for the meshes and textures or something else...

I would love to use this but obviously better heads conflicts with anything this would do. Has anyone removed Riptide's better heads dependancies and not got a lot of faceless people? None the less this looks fantastic Tele. The sequels will be a major endeavor.

Also is it possible for you to make each guard have a unique face without a plugin?

Riptide's Face Replacer isn't dependent on Better Heads, although better Heads is required for meshes and textures.

You don't need Better heads to be checked or the plugin to even be installed. Riptide's plugin is only dependent on Morrowind or so it says. This replacer should work fine with Riptide's replacer. And yup, lots of nice work to be done. Should be fun ;)

Without a plugin, nope.

I'm late to the party as usual. (Work. Bah.) But I'm bringing lots of beer as compensation. ;) :foodndrink: :foodndrink: :foodndrink:

Just downloaded it and took a quick peek. Looks like a very nice and diverse selection to me. :goodjob:

Thanks for all the hard work selecting heads, hairs and putting this together mate. ;) Must have been a pain to pick out and rename all those meshes correctly. I have a very short attention span whenever I get bored doing something so I would probably not have pulled something like this off in such a short time. :embarrased: I always thought shuffling files, renaming meshes and bringing order into the texture filenames and folders was the worst part of releasing plugins.

Glad to see so many positive comments too. :trophy: Almost makes me want to un-retire from modding. But I'm far too lazy nowadays. :P

Edit: Spelling + grammar + clarity + whatnot else. :embarrased:

Cheers, UQF

Hello,
Glad to see so many positive comments too. :trophy: Almost makes me want to un-retire from modding. But I'm far too lazy nowadays. :P

If I add a few more positive comments, would you get rid off of your laziness? :P
Your heads are wonderful, astounding, amazing, beautiful, marvelous... Is that enough? :hehe:

Anyways, if you come back, you can be sure that your work will be appreciated. :)

Great work, Tele. First face I saw was Jessica Alba in the Caldera Mage's Guild. I've only played with this a little so far, but the faces are great! One question: do you use just your personal plugginless replacer, or do you combine it with a mod to compliment the replacer? Again, great work! :trophy:

UQFORGOTTEN ==> Not too late, considering it's been less than 3 days.

The hardest part was figuring out which great head to select and use. Kinda hard when you have so many to choose from. Good thing I'm making a Volume II and III to use the rest of them ;) Wasn't a pain at all renaming he meshes. Organizational skills are one thing I have.

Yes, yes, you're far too lazy. Hopefuly I can convince you to look on that harddrive of yours and send over anything else you might have lying around you don't intend to release because of your sloth, hehe. Or just zip up all your meshes and textures and send 'em over. I'd be happy to go through them and figure it out if I can use them for the next Volumes!

Anywho, thanks again for the comments and letting me use your wonderful heads for this. :twirl:

One question: do you use just your personal plugginless replacer, or do you combine it with a mod to compliment the replacer?

I'm just using my personal pluginless replacer for the moment. I use Sharper Khajiit textures by Carnajo and a set of pluginless Argonian heads and hairs from Bravo1 (never got permission to use his stuff) and Silaria along with Silaria's body textures when I'm testing things without any plugins at all.

Other times it depends on my setup as to whether I use Shon's Argonian Bodies, AlienSlof's Better Beasts, Detritus' Khajiit Replacer, etc. The beast races really have a lot of options which way to go, so I figured I should leave them seperate and work on heads that would go with Better Bodies. Not to mention the Beast Heads aren't all that bad, although i wish someone would make sharper textures/new meshes of the Argonian hair. Maybe slightly sharper textures for the heads too. That would be a blessing.

I don't use other head replacers at the moment though. I'm waiting on Westly's head replacer with anticipation and I'm working on Volume II which will work with the pluginless replacer really well, using similar faces to the ones found in the pluginless replacer. I'll probably make the new Khajiit and Argonian heads for Volume II as seperate entities. Toss up for the Orcs, but they should probably be seperate too for those that want to use Barabus' Orcs. I'll figure it out...

Well it's difficult to refrain from wishing you a happy birthday, but if you desire so i can say once again how much I love a compilation of all the wonderful faces available as one perfect face replacer! Oblivion has yet something to learn in regards of faces or where else can I simply choose from such a tremendous variety I ask?

See, stayed on topic :P
