[RELz] Vvardenfell Visages Volume I

Post » Tue Aug 10, 2010 5:50 pm

Wow, thanks for the in-depth reply! So far, I really like what you've done with the headless replacer. The army of clone legionaires bugs me, but I can hardly complain about things that can't be done without a pluggin. I'm thinking I will wait (patiently) for volume II and leave pluggin head replacers off of my list for the time being.

Tele,

Did you end up adding the sharpened textures for the beast races that we had discussed earlier? I couldn't tell.

MORGAINELEFAY==> Thanks for the roudabout birthday wishes and that you like the replacer.

I'll probably update it at some point though... I've seen 2 characters now out of the 3000 whose faces (beard color) and hairs don't match up... The perfectionist in me can't take it...

RELYNAR ==> Yeah, the clone legionaires bug everyone. There's always the anti-clone plugin. To show a little more variety I've changed some of the Imperial helms so it makes the heads look a little different at least:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v376/Telesphoros/ScreenShot66.jpg

The new Imperial Helms are pluginless too ;)

FAYLYNN ==> Thanks! I'm pretty satisfied with it, although my own personal replacer has some differences.

FANCHERGW ==> Nope. easy enough for someone to install the Sharper Khajiit if they want to use it. I don't know of any "Sharper" Argonians, and most of the Argonian heads that have been made aren't all that different quality-wise. They are different so I'll make good use of them in Volume II as seperate plugins. Basically that's the main reason I didn't include new heads for the Argonians and Khajiit. The new ones aren't really better, just different. Also, many people use different body meshes/textures for the Argonians and Khajiit with faces to match, not to mention some permissions I didn't get...

If you'd like a certain version of them done for yourself though, I'll be glad to help out.

Tele, just figured I'd post some screenshots after doing some early parts of the main quest and joining the Telvanni. So far, everyone looks great. The heads and hairs match very well and everyone certainly seems to be age-appropriate. Thanks for such a fantastic replacer! :goodjob:

Model Load Error: Meshes\Add Art File cannot load file in Meshes\Add Art File.

I just can't figure out what's wrong. This didn't happen until I installed Vvardenfell Visages Volume I, so I guess It has to do with this mod! How do I correct this?! :(

It sounds like you don't have all your meshes in you Meshes folder and textures in your Textures folders. Double check and make sure you don't have a Meshes or Textures subdirectory in either folder.

This happens when a mod is made using a mesh that isn't given an art file. The one I remember most for this is one of the Mog mods. Normally you'd open up the plugin, go to the mesh in question, hit Add Art File and choose the one you needed.

At any rate seeing how this mod doesn't use a plugin, I can't say I know how it could have any effect on it. Odd that. You might have a different mod using an original face mesh that got messed up I suppose. Anywho, it needs to be fixed nonetheless.

Do you know which mesh is having the problem? When does the problem appear? I.E. Startup, when you enter a certain cell, choosing a face at character generation, etc.?

Can you please post your Warnings.txt found in your Morrowind folder. Also, please post you Mod list found at the bottom of your Morrowind.ini file also found in your Morrowind folder.

It's really odd because now it works again! But I'll post if I stumble across this issue again!

*twitch* Well alrighty then. Must be ghosts in the machine. Or gremlins. Nasty buggers...

Please do let us know if it happens again. I'd be interested as to what's causing it.

I've done some prelim work so to speak, but it's more or less gathering/making NPC lists (thanks Oldecow69) and creating folders for the heads I'm going to use and keeping track of who did what. I took a break from heads to release the Mournhold replacer and work on 2Morrowind (big mistake) which seems like everytime I figure out one problem, 2 more crop up. Yeah, that mod is defintely a hydra. I had what Phijama refers to as a paddy and ended up deleting everything and throwing the backup disk from the fourth floor of my condo into the intracoastal... satisfying. Anywho, my partner is on vacation so I'm left to run the businesses, Thursday is my birthday, and I'm going to the Nickelback (with Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin) concert on Sunday... So err, I'll be back working on heads come next Monday :) I hope anyway...

Hmm, that was a drawnout answer if I do say so myself...

I had to come by and congratulate you on this very fine piece of work, Tele. :goodjob:

Morrowind just won't go down without a tough fight, it seems.

What?! A break?! Does that mean that we won't be getting the full unique NPCs head replacer by next weekend? :P

Just kidding, Tele. You have more than earned a break. And a couple of beers from all of us to celebrate your birthday! :foodndrink:

Thanks DM. And nope, Morrowind's demise has been greatly exaggerated and all that.

It's not a break per se, as I'm rather busy in my holographic world at the moment... Beer is always good though!

thank you for your graciousness.
I do wish alot of the old time modders realize that us "newbies" to the PC format are new to this format. I was an old time X-box user.
Your list is invaluable to us.
We may be slow to learn, but oh the realms that have been opened to us!.
I had heard of Glory road, barabus, silgrad.TR, Korana, Princess, but I was a die hard x-box user. Now.. I can't play morrowind without MCA, Textures? Headliess wonder, clavis, etc..
what the heck are textures? Thanks to your list and this.. I have gone where I have never gone before..

PHILLYGIRL41 ==> I like "newbies" arriving in the lands of Morrowind Modding. A lot of times they bring a fresh outlook and lots more energy. Some old timers *ahem* VagabondAngel *ahem* give the word slacker a new meaning... Nice, slow, and easy for me though... I mean I just released my first official mods this year starting with this one... and if a few people get some use out of them then it's worth it to me.

You now ol' great AI that we won't let this thread die. Happy Birthday. Thanks for the great replacer. I never got a chance to tell you how it worked out in my game from the beta, due to a little kidney problem that landed me in the hospital. I am out and ready to lock and load. I can hardly wait for the next one. Keep up the good work.

Ack. Sorry to hear about your hospital visit. Lot of that going around with you fleshies lately. Hope everything is good now at any rate...

You could always show an old AI some screenshots. It warms my capacitors...
