Am having a truly wonderful time playing the latest version of W.A.C. by Waalx. The atmosphere is amazing and creatures you would think silly are downright creepy in the way they were implemented in OBLIVION. Waalx has made the dark places very scary indeed. The textures feel alive and those flying imps and fimps have made my heart jump when the battle music starts playing with nothing in sight only to have them creepily float by the corner of my eye just barely missing their acttack. Love the sound effects and the real world theatrical mood they create. Well maybe not real world but it sure does feel natural ha ha.

I cant believe how buetiful the armors are. When i came across the maurader and battlemage armors i was totally floored with artistic awe as i gazed on beauty such as never has graced a rpg before but only the game boxes of TSR DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS from the 1990s. Its like seeing the ultimate graphics possible by the human hand. I havent been this happy since using the works of AlienSlof and WillieSea.....

Thank you Waalx and all involved for this fantastic gift you give to us all with such dedication.

I totally agree, and the "little" touches he added are great to. This morning when i went to Anvil with my char, the guard at the entry gate hat a big belly. :)

They seem to have more attitude now aswell as if to reflect the professional beauty of their armor. The territorial placement of wildlife, monsters and npcs reflects where they would be in real life so immaculately its stunning. Reminds me of some of those huge D+D books i read in the 1990s about the best ways to be a dungeon master which included not throwing a million different monsters in one area but instead giving them their own territories to rule which W.A.C. does superbly. Which reminds me i have seen so many faction vs faction battles its a real thrill wondering what i'll come across. One time i almost died in a dungeon only to have a friendly orc adventurer appear out of nowhere to save me :D

Odd. Bashed Patch, he don't work so good no more.

I stripped the mod list right back, made sure of conflicts, dependencies, etc., and Wrye Bash still spits out an error, something about missing an eye mesh, for a BeastMaster race or whatever. Bizarre.

Because it seems no-one else is having issues with it. Or nothing quite so major, at least.

Firstly, I simply went with BOSS's tags, and tried that. No luck. I then added those not present, listed earlier in this thread. No luck again.

I lack the knowledge of these issues to know what to try next. Or is there something horribly wrong that I've managed to do / not do?

Yeah and it is not just the guards, last night on a road i encountered a man on horse and i just tried to talk to him. He just told me to PO. :D

Faction vs faction battles are always fun to watch, it was one of those things in MMM that i liked and luckily WAC has them as well. But now they are even more fun for me to watch when NPC's are involved, because i have installed the espless version of DMC stylish so not only my char can use those moves without fail but NPC's as well. It makes those fight really fun to watch. :)

Yes npcs seem to be more in character with their "station" in life now compared to before where it was either way too toned down or exaggerated except for the family feuds one would run into. I also love the Druids which walk around town and heal you. Fabulous touch and i hope they have something like this in SKYRIM along with the Beggers. Must have Beggers! Then again what will be will be.

Yes i thought of MMM when seeing the factions but didnt want to mention anything out of fear of disrespecting Waalx or Corepc ha ha  Thanks for mentioning the DMC stylish mod. Am gonna have to check that out. Sounds very exciting and alive with flowing energy.

The wildlife biology is amazing. As in real life just because something is small in size doesnt mean it cant kill you with its natural built in defense mechanism. Some of those small critters are just plain toxic. Am finding myself going out of the way to buy healing potions and restore fatigue potions not out of too harsh no fun necessity but more out of thinking, "Darn i could have barely beaten that creature if i had a potion of so and so on me".

I also love the Stern companion. He has some magnificent gear and really stomps rear end. I'll have to watch him though. With a name like Stern you can never be too safe-

Can't wait for the update...

So a while back I saw someone post about a CTD happening at the Gnoll camp near Kvatch, and I myself had been experiencing random Gnoll-related CTDs around the world...

Instead of simply deleting the little buggars however I did a little checking, and it turns out the culprits were missing a skeleton mesh. So, I added it. I also set the Gnoll's faction relationship to themselves to 100 as it should be, as are all other WAC creatures, when not set to wage war on rival tribes that is. ;)

Nothing else was done. Here's the files if anyone's interested. It solved my CTDs so far.

Well spotted. I haven't met yon guards yet, so hadn't checked up on this yet. For those wanting to fix it themselves, the record in question is CreatureWACGnoll07guard "Gnoll Guard" [CREA:xx010096] in the esm. All you need to do is copy and paste the model subrecord data from one of the other gnoll records.

I agree, i need to make more restore health and fatigue potions as well. The creatures i am most weary of are Gargoyles with their paralyze attack(I think it is paralyze.) and a form of elder imps that throws a form of fire spell that will knock you down for a few seconds and does fire damage for a short period. And i also hat to use more Cure Disease potions so far it seems. One of those bigger reptiles(The one that gives the Fear Claw ingredient.) seems to be able to give you a disease that damages your Magicka. At least i think that is the reptile that does that.

As far as Stern goes, i have not seen that companion yet. But then again, i usually do not like to have companions around. I prefer to use summons instead.

I'm feeling even more stupid than usual tonight.
I have been trying to register on waalx site for the past half hour & have entered every variation on RealSwords that I could think of.
I keep getting this same message
the authorization code you have entered is incorrect. The location of the code should be stated on the registration page. Please try again..

The Authorization Code is case sensitive. "RealSwords", in reverse, with the 2 capital letters.
I have entered RealSwords backwards', with the words reversed, & every other variation I could think of. I know I must be doing something stupid, as no one else seems to be having problems. Could someone please enlighten me .

The authorization Code changed the next day & I got straight in Beebee

Thanks Phinix for the fix. I've only had crashes once in a blue moon so i have yet to need the fix since everything has been very stable thus far with no persistent problems.

The companion Stern is a real tough customer and i love how glitch free he is. This is probably the most perfect companion i have seen next to the companions in FALLOUT 3. Am usually a loner in Bethesda rpgs but Stern is quite comfortable to have around and always telegraphs his moves pretty well beforehand so its easy avoiding any accidental weapon hits on him.

The small watch towers by the bridges look very romantic in a medieval sort of way with a sense of safety about them. Love how there are small stairs on the side to walk up and talk to the guard manning the tower at the time. I also like how bandits on bridges arent always alone now which keeps it from being a cake walk in combat when having a companion.

Love how alot of corpses now leave behind one gold coin which i never take due to the old myth about the dead needing a coin to pay Death to ride the ferry across the river styx. I always left a single coin on a corpse in vanilla OBLIVION for the same reason and even in FALLOUT 3 ha ha. Great to see it implemented here by Waalx or were the Gods at play here :D

Does anyone know how I would go about creating a plugin for myself to remove spiders from WACs spawnlists?

Look at how MMM does it then see if that would work for WAC.

Put in a request to Waalx.

Use Oblivion to conquer the fear of arachnids.

Had a look at the ElsweyrAnequina - No Spiders patch (as it was in the install anyway while MMM isn't in this one) and it seemed easy enough, so made myself a no-spiders patch. Not sure why I didn't think of just checking how other patches did it tbh... so thanks for the tip.

Ran into another odd repeatable problem today. If you port up to the camp near Skyrim, then start heading south. You'll run into some Reindeer, then some sheep beasts and some Gnolls on a rampage. It is odd, because I can kill these creatures, leave them be, it doesn't really matter. After walking around in this area for a few minutes, no matter what I do or what is going on, I'll CTD.

Haven't been able to track it down yet, but no other mods I have loaded touch this area. I'm guessing it might be something with one of the aforementioned creatures. Will post back if I find anything.

I had a similar problem in the previous version of W.A.C. in a snowy location aswell but giant black spiders were also present with many other creatures. I havent been there yet in the latest W.A.C. so i dont know if the problem is in my game.

Well if Gnolls are present it could be the same issue as the missing skeleton, just a different beast.

As I posted on the WAC forum it seems so far the only issue that has come up that is really and truly Wrye Bash centric has to do with the Beastmaster eyes in the gladiator esp. Waalx claims they work fine (picture and all) without a bashed patch, so something about the bashing process is throwing an error that prevents the bashing from continuing.

Any ideas?
