Is Wadsworth Psychotic?

Post » Sun May 15, 2011 4:39 am

Started playing FO3 again. Playing on the PC so I can play with mods (normally play on PS3). My character got the Megaton house and I've noticed Wadsworth talking under its breath. I never noticed this on the PS3. He can say some pretty threatening things and his voice sounds like a psycho. Is this normal? Anything to worry about?

Nothing to worry about. He's a backtalking bucket of bolts but he won't go crazy and murder you in your sleep. It's Mr. Buckingham at Rivet City you have to watch out for. He always comes after me :sadvaultboy:

Yeah, he does that. I could only notice it when wearing headphones. I love how they don't even add the mumbling to the subtitles.. :P

That is the difference. I started wearing headphones so I wouldn't disturb my family while playing. Thanks everyone!

I heard Wadsworth mumbling when I went near him. On PS3. But the words were not all clear all the time.

He creeps me out.

The Mr Handys I have met so far are all a creepy in varying degrees apart from Andy. He I know is friendly but he still creeps me out.

It is like the Mr Handys are planning a robot takeover or something, lol.

They all so far look like they are going to attack you.

I will put my headphones on next time I go near Wadsworth and other Mr Handys.

It seems that many robots are rather psychotic or at least unpleasant.

Wadsworth is on of the worse, in my opinion. Yes often he'll say something under his "breath" (though he doesn't really breath I guess) Like:

Good to see you alive and well..... well good to see you anyway.

I think the Mr. Handys are having issues with age and radiation. In the games you find many "crazed" Mr. Handys in radiated areas. As long as he doesn't go Norman Bates while my character is sleeping, I'm OK.

No Wadsworthless isn't psychotic. Just has a damn attitude problem that's fixable with a plasma bolt.

I would probably say the the nuka cola plant foreman is the worst, followed by Andy because
Spoiler
When you do the quest to go back into the vault you find Andy is the new physician. You find he killed Beatrice by amputating her lower leg causing her to bleed out. The worst part is he did it to remedy a sprained ankle. There is blood all over the walls and stuff and he seems to have gone mad in the time you were away.

I would rank wadsworth at third, although I have never heard the tenpenny tower butler as I would never blow up megaton.

I think it's somewhere in the lore that Wadsworrh killed the previous owner of the Megaton house. And yes all mister handys are a little mad. Well maybe all the robots are.

I have a mod that turns him into an eyebot. Looks less threatening and doesn't get in the way anymore ;)

I had to kill him for knocking over my tin can tower. Otherwise I'd try that mod.

I tried someone else's savegame once and was met by http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/6615/waddycominhome.jpg when I fast traveled to Megaton one evening. He must have been out plotting a takeover with the other Mister Handys.

People, and people-like robots, are not meant to be locked inside a house (or hospital) and forced to do only housework (or whatever) for eternity without a break. It makes a person...loopy *twitch*

It's what he does when you are out. He comes back enough to stop you noticing his abscence, lol.

I now know what Andy from Vault 101 does after you leave. D:

He is insane. :o

Scary. I always shoot him.

Also met Godfrey the butler in Tenpenny Tower. A bit less psychotic than Wadsworth, but not by much.

The Mr Handy in the Townhouse in one of the areas near Vernon Square has a Mr Handy. He mutters under his breath too.

And he has been resting for a while. Maybe they were created psychotic.

He recites a disturbing poem when you put 'read bedtime poem to childen'.

That poem would give nightmares to anyone. Poor children.

Seeing Wadsworth's silhouette in my house has nearly caused me to open fire more than once. Mr. Handy's just look menacing for some reason. Strangely, I'm comfortable around Mr. Gutsy's. I know those ones are meant to be lethal, but their voices and personalities make them seem more stable.

I can just imagine Sheriff Simms reaction to being suddenly awakened by gauss rifle fire in the middle of the night, and the rest of Megaton to the hole blasted through my wall, the house next door, and the outer wall on the other side of town.

Honestly, I wish there was a way to turn Wadsworth off.
