hey guys whats up. ive only recently discovered this game, so please forgive me for all of my concerns.
what i dont understand is why they wont show kills and deaths??
i mean, this IS a FPS.
so it wont show kills/deaths at all? so when you press the button to show the in game score board... whats it gonna show instead??

also... i heard killing doesnt get you alot of xp? why is that. killing is fun. i dont understand.i know sd thought ppl will only kill-wh0re... but i dont know about this....

It is discussed more here, but to answer yeah no K/D screen t all. If I remember correctly it shows either experience or who did the most objectives for mvp.

Also they give your more incentive to help your team than to lone wolf an just kill things the entire match, to help make things more team based.

This is about playing the objective, it's a team game and they don't want lone wolfs. You can keep count by yourself but in this game how much you actually do for the team is what counts.

To add to this, server owners will be able to track server stats for community websites. But its server specific.
As for in game, no. Edit: Other than maybe a mod or something. No clue how anything related to that will play out in the future. Theres a lack of info related.

Splash Damage is focusing on making Brink fun for the individual player. This means removing one hit kills, grenade spam, camping, and playing as a lone wolf. It also de-emphasizes the need to kill the other players; instead, completing objectives and helping teammates (resupplying ammo, healing, or buffing their weapons) will grant much more XP. (One of the devs actually has challenged us to play a game without firing a shot, which from all we've seen is a very possible way to play.)

Brink is not a traditional FPS, you are very correct in that assessment. However, for a lot of us here on the forum, we see that as a good thing. Kills aren't the only things to look forward to in a shooter. You can still have a lot of fun without getting kills all the time. If you don't agree with this, then you probably aren't the type for this game.

Brink is an exercise in selflessness, and you will be rewarded much more for helping your teammates than looking out for yourself.

The developers have confirmed (several times, actually) that there will be no client-side stat tracking besides XP -- they have done this to dissuade obsessive and elitist behavior regarding stats, and also in order to keep the focus on playing the game and supporting your team and having fun.

And about the scoreboard: it won't show kills or deaths (as of the last update to the Brink compendium) and will be ordered by XP, which, again, is earned much more through assisting your team than through any type of kill.

PS: Anybody else getting that "vibe" from this thread?

It grants more XP in doing objectives and being a help to the team by reviving people and giving out buffs.

Im confused about one thing. I know their will be no stat records whatsoever i.e. Leaderboards.

But does this mean that even in-game you cant see any type of progress? i.e. k/d, exp gained, bombs planted etc?

XP gained is a definite yes. Others, I cannot say.

I think you can see the EXP gained

This game is about objectives not kills.
