No! Wait! I kneel!

Post » Fri Aug 29, 2014 1:16 pm

Lol jk.

Seriously does this bug anyone else? Ill be attacking someone and they will pray for mercy. Im not a cold blooded killer. Give me your things and Ill let you be on your way.

Instead they pretend to give up, spazz out for a second or two, and proceed to continue fighting despite the fact they were begging for forgiveness.

I know there isn't much consequence to murder, but I wish I could just straight up be a bandit and intimate people to give me their items.

Same thing since 11/11/11 hasn't changed a bit.

would have been great though, their are a mass spectrum off peeps who wouldn't mind letting some peeps live. would also enhance their RP. instead we all, for those who RP have the same experience fullstop of yielding npc's coming for our biscuits after 2 secs ;p such variety.

I agree. But it's "I yield", not "I kneel".

They should yield if they say that they are going to

Here are two mods that address this

Here is an updated one

It is weird that the enemy can yield but then nothing comes of it. I will say there are some very cool and rare killcam moves you can perform on yielding enemies.

I hate when the Old Orc and the Boethia Cultist beg for Mercy :stare:

I never had the old orc beg for mercy. Now cultists yes. Its rather entertaining after they monologue about how Miraak has sent them to kill me "I YIELD I YIELD!!!!" falls on deaf ears. :P

At least the Boethia Cultist is a challenging Battle, the Miraak Cultists are more of an annoyance. They should know that Gaurds will get involved in a Town.

Spoiler
I was locked in Dialogue with Klimmek while returning from High Hrothgar when the Miraak Cultists initiated dialogue in Ivarstead. Klimmek was standing directly between My character and the Cultists. The Ivarstead Gaurds had them pincushoined before My character had a chance.

I was confronted by the cultists when I was in Morthal heading to High Hrothgar with the horn. Bad day for them since it was also my first visit to Morthal... which meant the towns folk were all gathered outside the longhouse discussing a certain burned house... Luckily I was not locked in any dialog but I don't think I even got to hit any of the cultists... The guards and townsfolk took care of that for me.

Which is strange. guards will attack cultists but not hired thugs... :P

But on topic has anyone ever been attacked by a bandit patrol of say 4-5 bandits but one is always cowering behind a tree or something? I usually let that one go since despite the red dot on my radar, they never attacked me.

The cowering Bandit never has attacked My character, either. The two Bosses and the Archer always seem to come straight after My character. My characters believe the Soul of the Coward has died enough Deaths, and frees the Soul to enter the Dreamsleeve

I know what you mean. I was taken in by the old "I yield" routine the first few times but that soon changed. Now my characters have no guilty conscience and finish them off as soon as they drop to one knee, no messing about! LOL

It is quite an annoyance. One alternative for the compassionate player is perk out your Illusion and use Fear spells. The enemy will remain hostile, but you won't have to kill them if you don't want to.

Forcing yielding enemies to give you their stuff should have been a thing. That way they can't fight back.

Yes actually. It varied by character what happened to the one coward. Honestly, though, if you're going to kill someone, then don't wuss out when you're halfway there just because things turned against you. You don't really deserve mercy from the person you tried to kill.

Wasn't enemies yielding properly supposed to be a feature in the game that just got scrapped along with a bunch of other features to push the game out on the 11.11.11 date? So you have enemies half yielding but since they didn't finish this feature they just follow up by attacking you again.

One of the very first things I fixed with mods. Even before UI.
