WAIT!

So I've heard a lotta talk around these boards about a Morrowind 2, or a Oblivion 2. Many people want a game ideical to morrowind, but say they are doomed to have another Oblivion. What I say is this: I don't want another Morrowind. I don't want another Oblivion. We've already played those games, what I want is this: Another TES game. A Skyrim game.
Morrowind may have had a better story, but Oblivion had better combat, Morrowind had a more unique world but Oblivion had better quests. You see where I'm going with this? To have another Morrowind would mean having a game I think none of us would want to buy, a game that wouldn't live up to the standards of a TES title.

Lets remember what those standards are, cause they arent making a game that's already been made...

Oh yea, that's right, to make a game that revolutionizes in every way possible. To make a game that looks better, handles better, tells better, shows better, and introduces concepts never before thought to be possible on a single DVD rom.
What I'm saying is this, don't think that your getting Morrowind back, or that you'll be stuck with Oblivion again, think that your getting something new, something that combines all the great qualities of the series in one polished package.
You're getting SKYRIM.

You're not the first to bring this up really.

We say morrowind and Oblivion because those are the most recent games that can be related to. we don't know anything about Skyrim beyond the trailer so until then we will continue about Morrowind and Oblivion, each game has parts of its predecessor. Morrowind and Daggerfall Lore exists in Oblivion was well. I don't see the point in getting worked up. in addition why not say these games aren't like each other? All 5 series are RPG's most were Open world, all have magic and the races. why not say they are like each other? same series different name. its not as serious as it may seem.

NOBODY LITERALLY WANTS ANOTHER MORROWIND! Nobody wants an exact replica of Morrowind! God help anyone who can't read between the lines on this one. When people say they want another Morrowind, they mean that they want another game that brought them the same emotional reaction and quality of play they experienced with Morrowind. Yes, they frequently advocate bringing back/scaling back some features to Morrowind levels, but that is not the same as suggesting that Skyrim literally be the same exact thing in terms of atmosphere, gameplay, mechanics, etc.

So sick of reading this kind of crap.

I think they way things stand right now, all the lessons learned from the criticism of past titles, the experience with the technology..

Skyrim has the potential to be the best TES game in the series.

I don't want either MW2.0 or OB2.0.

I can't wait for us to learn more about the game so we can be spared those silly threads with non-descriptive titles!

Lol. I've never seen anyone say they wanted it to be another morrowind, as stirring as your speech was. When referencing Morrowind, it's mostly the surplus of factions and the fact that there is just generally more to do in Morrowind. No one has literally said they want to stand there attacking in jerky motions with only their upper body.

This has been brought up before.

This right here is exactly what us Morrowind fans mean by we want another Morrowind. Trust me, I don't want npc's that stay pretty much in the same place all game. I like Oblivions ai much better that Morrowind's it really is a no brainer. The animations in Morrowind were hideous and Oblivion what a huge improvement. Fast travel was limited to cities and you had to pay for those services, while in Oblivion you could fast travel everywhere for free. That made the world feel small it was just there as a filler because you had no reason to walk through it. There are a few more that I could put down but i'm on my phone and tired of typing on it. Now if you just change those problems and keep the few that were good with Oblivion Skyrim could be a great game just like Morrowind.

I completely agree with you guys-- TES series has always been a base for improvement, and imo sets the bar for a lot of games out there. From Daggerfall to Morrowind to Oblivion, each with its own drastic change in graphics and story, I kind of expect a whole different game. If Oblivion 2.0 came out I would definitely be disappointed. But I doubt that's going to happen.

Skyrim's going to kick-ass.

Look all good intentions no hard feelings, its just some of us who've been paying attention already have to deal with the wait (when we come to the forums) these threads are only grinding the sands on our faces, so a sort of low tolerance as.....somewhat unwarranted as it might be prevails, even with its good reasons.

(wish people would SEARCH before doing things :( )

I agree with this.
I dont want to relate this game to either Oblivion or Morrowind.
I want to think of this game as one thing only: Skyrim.
