Wait..wait..wait.. There is No EU-Server on Launch?

Post » Tue Mar 25, 2014 12:51 am

Just so everyone gets it straight, there will be no EU Server on launch. Apparently the Server we play on here in the EU is still located in the US and "will be moved some time later after launch" Yeah, bullcrap keep your servers overseas this was the last time I have participated in this stinking Bethesda behaviour.

There is no "EU server located in the US" it is an US server to test if there are enough players here in the EU and if so, the possibility to then move the US server to the EU arises. This is 2014! This title is claimed to be AAA+ and has NO EU Server set up on start! This is un-frigging-believble!

Stop trolling and calm down before something ruptures. Take the time to google their statements and you will at least know their reasoning, which makes your whole speculation obsolete.

And I can tell you from personal experience that latency was quite alright - even during the mega stress test weekend where all capacity was overloaded.

Oh I get it, so all 4 of you want to play on the EU server from the US instead? Especially in PvP with a 200ms+ ping, yes?

What part of "After the initial launch phase is over, we will move the European megaserver to the European datacenter" don't you understand?

Not even on the beta servers did I get 200ms lag. Not once.
Maybe you should check your connections?

Do you have any fact on getting 200+ ping on the us server?

Do you have any fact on ZoS having EU server on us just to see in the future if it is worthwhile for them profit wise to move it to eu later?

Have you even bothered to read the statements ZoS have made about this? provided by user before your last post.

What kind of disaster is it to play on us server for a week or two before they can move the server to eu and give us a smoother experienced of the move, instead of them moving the servers in a hurry and we not being able to play at all.

I never had a ping higher than 150ms - even during the most intensive stress test in the middle of a giant zergfest in Cyrodiil.

Maybe you should use google, or get some facts before making assumptions.

I want them to do everything possible to make launch as smooth as possible. Chances that stuff will be broken, especially if a lot of people hit the game. That has happened in so many games. I like the fact that they have their priorities straight and migrate the servers when the sea is calm and everything runs flawless.

Until then, I think I can live with playing a game that has had zero latency issues even from the USandA!

Well, living in Austria am not happy with the whole servers on another continent either and being told it's all fine you have no delay just feels like very obvious lie for the sake of easy maintenance but...I don’t think it's as much as an issue as some want to make it to be. It's merely an inconvenience that gets sorted out in due time.

Can live with an additional 150~200ms for a while.

Just let me play finally

Even when I played in US beta, I had good connection in PVE, so I am not worried about this side of the problem. But this decision is strange, since after we had so many quest related bugs and the reason for those was supposedly in the number of players accessing the same quest at the same time. Isn't this just inviting that same problem to arise again?

Don't fret it. I'm in the UK and played on the US beta servers and suffered NO lag at all. I'm sure it will be fine!

Makes you wonder how many English speaking Euros will end up playing on the NA server.
