Guys take a look at this "http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Lonesome_Road will affect part of the Mojave Wasteland after completing the main quest."

is this just speculation or are they actually going through with this? just confused because the others did nothing to the Mojave.

It could have something to do with the nukes in the Divide...

Jason Bergman mentioned it in a recent interview, so yes, LR will affect the mojave. (hopefully this will involve nukes)

If it involves nukes, where do you think they will hit?

Perhaps we can set the destination similar to the end of Broken Steel.

Do you think the destinations would be big places like the strip or smaller settlements?

Smaller settlements would be more reasonable. I don't think you could progress in the story if you destroyed the Strip before visiting for the first time.

It may only effect it in the post ending slides years down the road, I'm kinda doubting we'll see any physical change in the mojave.

It ain't after the main quest. It's before it. Just clarifying. But yes. I'm wondering if Ulysses is going to make like a Presper and blow [censored] up.

Maybe The Fort or McCarren, depending on who you are siding with.

It won't matter when I play. Ulysses is slated to die.

I"m thinking it is going to be the Van Buran plot where you can't stop the nuke from being launched only control who gets hit.

Least that is what has occurred to me. Could be wrong.

I reckon it will be places such as The Fort or Camp McArran, then perhaps another choice for smaller places such as Goodsprings, Novac ect. Whichever of TF or CM gets hit makes the end game easier perhaps?

They won't ruin the base game quest lines by destroying anything remotely tied to an existing quest.

The change in the Mojave will undoubtedly be something minor - like a new crater out in the wastes. Don't get your hopes up that you'll be able to wipe out any of the cities or settlements because it won't happen.

In Fallout 3 you are given the option to destroy Megaton with a nuke...at the end of brokensteel, you could destroy the citadel, and yo can help ghouls kill everyone in tennpeny tower. All of these options involve dramatically changing an area or region and removing any quests for that area. so, i agree with the others that it could be nuke time for someone in the mojave. Another idea is that, maybe, you will get ulysses as a follower. I believe someone said that all of his companion codding is still in the game files....sooooo

As much as I'd love a shiny new companion, it did say that it would affect part of the wasteland. And yes, Beth has blown stuff up in the past, but I still doubt that they will destroy settlements, especially if they have to record dialogue for all of the people who will inevitably be talking about how Novac or whatever was just nuked.

Withe the exception of Broken Steel (which is at the end of the base game, not before), those are quest lines in the base game - not add-ons. LR won't change anything major in the Mojave.

So we get nukes in LR?
And we can effect the mojave?
"Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter."
Its so clear now!

I don't recall anyone here saying that it is. Broken Steel was used simply as a comparison.

But someone will, eventually.
It will probably look something like this:

"maybe it will change the mojave by extending the game past its ending like broken steel did!" :shakehead:

Looking back at this, the weather will probably just change in some areas.

Like duststorms and lightning.

Just a theory.
