Wait, Why does the PC version cost $60?

Post » Sun Sep 25, 2011 8:06 am

I've been trying to decide which console I'll get Skyrim for and I noticed that the PC version costs $60, like the 360.

I thought PC games were $50? Why the price hike?

Lokee.. no. just no

Beth's greedy thats all. Charging $10 extra bucks with nothing special is a waste at least Battlefield 3 gives you a free DLC and PC version 50% more content.

Other then that Rage and MW3 are the only $60 PC games this year really.

Get used to it. This time next year ALL PC games will be 60$. When the new console drops the games will be 70$ but PC will remain 60$ for several years after and everyone will have the price difference they are used to again... for a while.

A $10 increase for a game with 300+ hours of gameplay and also considering that BGS only releases a game every 3-5 years? I'm fine with it.

Nothing special? How about 300 hours of gameplay, more than the mostly 20 hour games nowadays, and also the 1000s of hours added by mods!

Ohai thread! Welcome back :)

Yes, the price is 60 dollars. Yes, this means they are making a bigger profit on the PC version. You want 'extra' content? You get a construction set.

PC games have been one of the best entertainment values around- while movies, books and other forms of entertainment have gone up 50% or more since the 80's, PC games have only had an incremental increase, until last year. I'm ok with that. And I'm ok with paying for a game that was in development for five years by one of the most talented, passionate gaming companies around.

Bye thread!
