Waiting Mod [possible REQ]

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:34 pm

Hello All!

It can be seem a bit silly for a character to stand outside a shop waiting 12 hours for it to open in the morning ;)

What I am looking for is a mod where you can wait 1-60 minutes (instead of 1-24 hours), but beds would still function as normal and allow up to 24 hours of rest/waiting.

Does something like this exist??
If not how difficult would this be to mod?

PS - bonus points (err cookies) for requiring 8 hours of sleep when leveling up - 1 hour seems a bit silly to me as well ;)

Thanks for any pointers or tips!

:lmao: Seems to me this is the kind of thing best fixed by....personal play style. As in, you can exercise your own ability to walk across the street to the Inn and get a bed and sleep for eight or more hours before leveling up or waiting for the shop to open.

:P

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4888 will pretty much do what you want, I think - you can't wait for minutes at a time (why would want to anyway?), but you can wait for any amount of time from 1 hour to "indefinitely", and you don't regain health or Magicka while waiting.

One of the main reasons for my Fatigue Effects mod (link in sig) is to address this issue. It does so by simulating hunger and exhaustion, so standing around doing nothing is a bad idea, and you need to get a reasonable amount of sleep. Unlike most other needs mods, there's no in-depth simulation -- the mechanics and penalties are clean and simple, and it's designed to be as non-tedious as possible. ;) The immersion-break you're describing (and more generally, the fact that time feels meaningless) is exactly why I wrote this, and I didn't put in any more complexity than I felt was needed to resolve it.
