Walking faster while over-encumbered...

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 7:15 am

Pull out your bow and ready an arrow. You walk a bit faster. Now, its not that much, but believe me, it makes a difference.

I dont have the "move faster while aiming with a bow" perk. So, im curious to know if having this perk will allow you to move even faster...

Id test it out but i have like 12 levels built up in my skills section so i dont want to be bothered atm... Just thought id spead the word, if you dont know already.

Oh! Almost forgot!

Go into 3rd person.
Crouch. (sneak) lol
Begin moving.
Whilst moving, pull out bow. (dont aim... Just pull it out)

Continue to move at lightning speed.. Lol.
Be careful... If you dont have the perk that makes you quiet while running, you will be super noticeable.

That is really weird as most weapons being readied slow you down. Must be the animation of an drawn arrow is faster than the over-encumbered animation.

Now, this begs the question, does it work with a sword readied?

I think it works the same as with sneak.
When you sneak and use a dragon shout, you walk faster.

I know having your sword readied doesnt. But i havent tried blocking with only a sword.

Actually, CCNA, he was talking about the movement reduction of the bow when you hold the arrow ready.
Actually the movement reduces from encumbering.
And so happens when you're with a bow drawn.

But your speed with encumbrance is slighly slower in comparsion with the ready bow.

In fact, I would love to know about that too.

Has to test then I come home as I have the fast move while arrow drawn perk.
They probably forgot to check for this then they set the walk with drawn bow speed.
It does not work with sword drawn, its the same as bow in hand but not drawn.

Pretty sure it doesn't
When staggering down from Helgen I've usually ended up sheathing weapons just to get their a bit faster despite my wolf paranoia
I'll have to try the drawn bow thing. Does it only work if you have an arrow notched?

It works like that because when you hold an arrow pulled it has a fixed speed in which you walk. So you can run, sneak, be overburdened, whatever, pulling an arrow will make you walk at a certain speed.

On the side note, for those having a problem with too much items in inventory- use whirlwind shout, it's not affected by it, and you can spam it all the way to the 1st inn/city.
