No Walled Cities PC?

Post » Wed Apr 17, 2013 10:53 am

So, looking for new and interesting game plays I started to think about playing another Khajiit. It kind of bothered me though that a player Khajiit was really not treated any differently than anyone else, yet the NPC Khajiit were generally second hand citizens. Then I thought, well suppose I play my Khajiit like a NPC Khajiit and not ever let him enter a walled city.

I'm just curious as to whether or not someone else has tried this and how it would play out. Obviously the MQ and all factions would be out. I'm sure some side quests would also remain unresolved. But there should still be plenty to do right? It would also require me to play differently in that I would have to use only one of the new homes that are outside of the cities (Hearthfire) and the store clerks and blacksmiths I generally used would have to be changed. I am wondering though if somewhere something gets totally screwed up playing this way.

Thanks.

Individual khajiit are allowed in cities, the caravans are not.

Pay attention people, Jzargo is basically in a city and during the main quest you can find a khajiit in the middle of Riften.

That would svck. You wouldn't be able to complete ANY questline.

And people need to pay attention too. It is not that Khajiit are not allowed in walled cities, it is the caravans that are not allowed in, you can have Kharjo and J'zargo following you all over Skyrim. if individual khajiit were not allowed in cities they could have easily made it so that those two couldn't follow you into walled cities.

Winterhold is not a walled city, and I could argue I've never actually seen him in it anyway. I was aware of a Khajiit in Riften (and some Argonians also) but she is kind of a special case.

Ever find it odd, based on Khajiits skills, that there is one in the Mages College but not in the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood (other than the random ones sent to kill you)?

Dude, it's a role-play. I can pretend that Argonians have to wear pink if I want to. Don't get so blown out of proportion over how I chose to role-play and offer some help if you are so inclined.

Even role play has to make sense. Basically you wouldn't be able to do much either if you limited yourself like this and this would basically be saying you should stay in Riverwood.

You could complete the College of WInterhold questline. I did the quests months ago so my memory may be fuzzy, but I don't think they send you to any walled cities.

Actually I'm hoping it will force me to explore the other un-walled cities as I generally leave them alone during most play-throughs. Forces me to branch out a little.

As far as it making sense, I don't feel it is that much of a stretch considering we already know that some Khajiits are not welcome within cites.

But thanks for your input.

I'm thinking Winterhold, Dawnstar, Morthal, Falkreath and Solstheim are the only ones that could work. OF course the minor towns as well like Roriksted, IVersted, Dragon Bridge.

Just trying to wonder how far you could actually get though.

There's also Shor's stone and others. And that's just it, I never really learn about the NPC's in those places as I generally run to a walled city to get anything done.

I may have a problem with dragons though, or lack thereof. I recall that if you don't do the first dragon kill for Whiterun that other dragons never spawn. Honestly I don't have a problem with a dragon-less game, though it may make crafting Dragon armor and weapons impossible. ;)
