Walrusses?

Post » Fri Aug 06, 2010 5:15 pm

It looks as though the concept artists have drawn sketches of walruses and are tailoring the horkers to be more realistic and natural...After all...The Elder Scrolls has come a long way since 'Bloodmoon'..

Looks like an odobenus rosmarus, OP. A mount, perhaps?

There are no horkers in Skyrim. They were unique to Solstheim, a gift of the All-Maker to his favored people, the Skaal. I guess this a bone to Morrowind fans? Maybe horker meat's all we'll see of them.

I'd rather have classic horkers, I don't see the point when it takes place in a world that have far more unrealistic creatures than modified walruses. :meh:

ARF! is my favorite confirmed feature.

Also, I propose the plural of "walrus" be "walrussen."

Like we had ironwood nuts in oblivion, even though they were only supposedly found in skyrim, so maybe we'll have horker meat, since horkers are supposedly only found in solstheim....

Ironwood nuts can't be considered a nod to a niche of the fan base. Otherwise, I agree, it is like ironwood nuts. (ha ha, what a name, ha ha!)

Wasn't there concept art of "Horker Meat", or did I just read it wrong?

There was, I'm pretty sure that the art in the OP is of the new Horker design. Horkers are confirmed.

Huh, I didn't think of that. That happened a lot in Oblivion, there was beef but no cows.... I actually hope they put horkers in Skyrim though.

It looks like a walrus to me.

I'm hoping for horkers as well, horkers rock.

There was a picture which had 'horker meat' at some point, so they're confirmed!

And maybe they're advlt horkers? That'd be awesome!

Just looked at some concept art pictures through google and found this one: http://www.scharesoft.de/joomla/almanach/images/1/1f/Artwork_-_Art_of_Skyrim_-_Himmelsrand-Karte.jpg (from the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4w5lT-DiUE).
Look at the bottom right corner. Could it be a walruss? :)

Sure looks like it to me.

Nothing big, just thought I could share my thoughts.
I'm getting the feeling we'll get lots and lots of animals in Skyrim, and I love it!

Unless they've designed an indigenous creature that looks like but is not a walruss,
That's a walruss.

Jus imagine.

Oceanic wallruss-covered beaches. Yay!
