Walrusses?

Post » Fri Aug 06, 2010 1:55 am

Just looked at some concept art pictures through google and found this one: http://www.scharesoft.de/joomla/almanach/images/1/1f/Artwork_-_Art_of_Skyrim_-_Himmelsrand-Karte.jpg (from the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4w5lT-DiUE).
Look at the bottom right corner. Could it be a walruss? :)
Sure looks like it to me.

Nothing big, just thought I could share my thoughts.
I'm getting the feeling we'll get lots and lots of animals in Skyrim, and I love it!

Lol yes :D

Also I'm sure horkers are going to be in. I mean, they can't ditch horkers in a snowy place like Skyrim :(

Wasn't there concept art of "Horker Meat", or did I just read it wrong?

Aside from this not being a "find", it's well known information to discuss. If you watched the Art of Skyrim vid at any point since it came out you would see the Horker walrus concept art both inside the art design room and outside on the wall next to the map of Skyrim and under the Orc Armour concept art.

Glad to see the effort at spreading the news about big hairy mammals with buck teeth and hundreds of pounds of blubber. As if there wasn't already enough about the U.S. obesity epidemic in the news these days.... :shakehead:

Ah had totally forgotten about that!
Yes, there were! Look, here http://news.tgn.tv/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Skyrim4-1024x640.jpg

So yeah, I'm guessing it pretty safe to assume horkers are in as well, hopefully :D

Personally I don't think look anything alike or even close to horkers: http://images.uesp.net//1/15/BM-creature-horker-2.jpg

I always figured that the walrus was the horker, and they'd just redesigned the creature to look more like an actual animal.
I preferred Bloodmoon's seal-with-creepy-lamprey-mouth though.

Walrus and Horker are two different creatures. "Oh, I didn't see any horker art, but there is walrus art, so that must be a horker!"

Yes, I know what horkers look like, but maybe they have changed the way they look.
I wouldn't like that, because I don't want horkers to look like walrus copies.

It's not impossible that they could have re-designed the horkers. Hopefully we'll have both, even if it's a bit overkill to have two different kinds of semiaquatic marine animals in one game.

I don't care about walrusses, but Skyrim should have horkers! But yes, I think they are confirmed.

While we're on the horker subject... is it just me or did you also get a bit freaked out the first time you saw horkers in Bloodmoon? I got pretty scared and thought like "WTF is this kind of thing!". They're still cool though :P
