I want to believe!

Do you honestly believe Bethesda can make good on thier promice and actually release Skyrim on 11.11.11 ?

Or do you think they wont live up to their publicised release date?

I think they must be pretty confident to have announced a release date so early - so I'm confident too :)

Skyrim has been in development longer than any other Bethesda game to date (that includes pre-production). That, combined with the fact that it's also been worked on by the largest team to date (100+ people as opposed to 60+ for Oblivion), and with the fact that their first announced date was so specific, leads me to believe they wont be delaying it.

Last time Bethesda's games got delayed they never had a specific date, it was just "fall" or "spring". This time they came out with an announcement date early. They seem to be completely sure that they'll make it.

Bungie made the date for Halo Reach.

Maybe it will, maybe it won't. What matters is that the game is finished when it's released, if they pushed the game back to 2012 to ensure the game is not as buggy as Oblivion was on release then I'd be happy about that.

It's such an important date due to the whole Dragon Language deal with how dragons can only write in scratches and such that 11.11.11 MUST be the release date. They may be in the "scrub down" phase of game making right now just clearing any bugs that are obvious for all we know.

Very specific, no 'working on', no '3rd quarter', straight in with the date, they must be very confident.

NO.

I don't think they'll make that date. In my opinion it will be delayed, I'm expeciting it. As a matter of fact, I hope it is delayed. I want the best RPG I can get and I think that Oblivion was a little rushed.

I want a quality RPG later than an RPG than needs 2-3 patches to fix problems and bugs. TAKE THE TIME.

and CoD4 made the Marine Corps Birthday.

If only Bethesda pushed the release back a day, they could too....USMC birthday release rather than the day after. would automatically make the game really badass.

Yep, they will make it. They've never announced with a date before. So, I take that as them being confident enough to make that date.

*sigh*

Bethesda is only specific on their release dates when they know for sure they can make them

Any project can suffer delays, and nobody can be 100% sure of finishing a project to a given date. On the other hand obviously Bethesda's developers know this, I suppose the project is supposed to be finished way earlier than the given date.

Anyway. If Skyrim is finally delayed, it would only mean that they had priorize to release a quality product over releasing on the given day.

Not concerned bout this.

I suppose in the case of CoD4 that birthday make sense, but in a fantasy RPG...

well.. they were obviously quite confindent about oblivion too.

Just watch the making of- video and a dude says twice "No, everything is going as planned...."etcetc. and later he says "I don't know, you're waiting for this panic to happen but that's not gonna happen!" (paraphrasing) and well.. that sounds confident to me.

Yes i think they have to release on time. The whole 11-11-11 gimmick is becoming an oft used term for Skyrim`s release.

Given the huge amount of interest already in Skyrim (not just here, but also on other game forums), i think they can`t afford to mess up the release date.

But with oblivion they gave a very vauge release time frame at first, Skyrim they gave us the date right off the bat

I'm sure they'll finish the game in time, unlike fable 3 who had to rush it up and like usual had quite a lot of game-ender bugs in it...

I think they will, but even if they don't, it's really not that big of a deal

I think the game is 98% complete. This is why Bethesda has made a Release Date instead of saying Fall of 2011. If the game was 50% or 75% then there is no way in hell the game would be ready for 11/11/11. So yeah the game is basically finished now.

I was only talking about release dates. I still think that to disclose the release date at announcement is a pretty bold move (unprecedented for Bethesda, I think).

I rather want the game to be released later than on date, if it's not finished.
