Want to buy game, but I have a question

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 10:44 pm

I really want to buy this game, but my PC internet connectioni is down until next wed. Is an internet connection required to install the game? I'm sure there's registration, but can I play the game without registering?
Thanks in advance.

Read the sticky at the top of the page "Skyrim and Steam". It goes in to why you need an active internet connection to not just DL the game, but also to play it. So, looks like you're SOL until your net gets up.

I believe you can play it in Steam's offline mode. You however cannot play it without registering and activating it.

Thanks for the answer. Guess I won't be buying it until next wed.

What the others have said is true, but don't let that put you off buying it, it is an amazing game. Haters gonna hate on Skyrim no matter what, because it is that good.

Yeah, I forgot about offline mode. Cursed senility raising it's ugly head once more.... Look on the bright side though, now you can buy it when everyone is having a black friday sale and save a couple of bucks unlike the rest of us fools who got it last week at full price!

What really irritated me was buying the game, then getting a beta invite into a much looked forward to MMO that shall remain nameless. Heh. I just read a post from someone complaining about the quests in this game....oh, trust me! There's a game coming out soon that is soooo much worst when it comes to quest dialogue! At least we don't have any, "Go forth brave savior of the universe and slay 5 (little furry creatures minding their own business)."
