I WANT a CHALLENGE!

Well, personally I find it a slightly more fun experience to zoom in with a long night scope on a Hunting Rifle than plinking from the same distance with a pipe pistol. Somehow I think Bethesda does too, it's kind of the point of the game; to improve your character as time moves on. You're supposed to go; "wohoo, what a cool weapon, I can't ′wait to use it". Not; "Oh, dang it, a Combat Shotgun. Woe me, what ungodly fate has befallen me, I don't want this... thing".

Handicap myself I can do when I have beaten the game and like to fool around with silly builds and crazy quest solving. But not on my first play-through. Right now the game is too easy for me and there's nothing I can do about it.

True but this is a game, hence why I compared it to movie characters as we're roleplaying a video game character who, like movie characters, have some basis in reality but do fantastical things. A thawed out guy isn't going to awaken in a harsh new world 200 years later and become Rambo Captain America, single handedly taking on groups of raiders, ghouls, etc. easily shrugging off wounds that would become infected and life threatening in the real world.

Exactly! Yet that is what's happening, hence the game is too easy.

Try a play through where the only weapon you use is a switch blade. Although obviously you'll have to use a security baton until you find one.

What do you actually want?

Do you want a higher difficulty level?

Do you want certain things included that aren't?

What do you actually want?

All I'm hearing is that "it's too easy". On Survival, I'm assuming.

Maybe I just can't relate. I have never played a game that was "too easy" on it's highest difficulty settings.

I guess I'm just one of those people that will never "GitGud".

Here's the challenge.

Start a new game with all S.P.E.C.I.A.L. at 4 on survival.

You are only allowed to put leveling points into perks after all of your S.P.E.C.I.A.L.s are at 10.

You can only have one rifle, one pistol and one melee weapon at any given time.

No Stimpaks/drugs allowed, only food water and radx/away.

Just remember, when you level up, you don't have to chose new perks, unlike FO3 and NV.

That's a great idea! And I even have one at all 4's right now! I think I'll give him a shot tonight. Not much in to stimpacks or radaway anyhow and I know where a Dr is that can cure me if it gets too bad (she's pretty hard to miss after Concord).

thanks! This truly was a great idea.

to me neither.

i'm lvl 38 on normal (!) difficulty, and i keep getting dismembered by friggin' assaultrons (edit: any weak spots on these, btw?), legendary whatevers and whatnot, don't see the "too easy" here...

...but ok well maybe i shouldn't go frag mutants wearing a tuxedo... hehe... :-)

Play Dead is Dead style and the game is suddenly much, much harder on survival mode.

Yeah but I don't see that as a challenge I see it as impossible :). It would make me rip my hair out. Maybe I will give it one shot. If I didn't have to go through the games into every new character ide be much note likely to try it.

But your are saying that Survival mode is too easy. So are you dying and how often. To me if you are dying the game is not too easy.

Want? Yeah, I don't want anything, I responded to a post saying that all you need to do to make the game more challenging is to not pick up loot to which I responded that doing that is stupid, you then responded to my post.

But okay, I suppose I want Bethesda to add more difficulty to the game, although it's kind of too late for me, my game is already slightly ruined.
