Ahh got ya, just before the little 'joy ride' you take before leaving to face Alduin Not that bad, could have been worse you could be like me and don't use auto-save at all.That little mistake could land me restarting 2-3 hours back and several levels as well

if I lost 3 hours of playing time I would put Skyrim away for a while.

Sometimes I just can't take it and will walk away for a little bit, but mostly I just soldier on and get back to where I was And learn a valuable lesson at the same time.....always remember to save. I don't like to use the auto-save options, they have the chance to cause some pretty nasty issues. So I turn them off and rely on the manual saves instead, just gotta remember to save as often as possible. TRY and remember being the important part, memory ain't what it used to be

When to make a new save:

• Before and after entering a dungeon.
• Before and after a boss fight.
• Before using a level up
• Before installing a new mod
• Before visiting the rest room, eating, answering the phone, yelling at your brother/sister/girlfriend/uname it.

Otherwise, you're in for surprises like the one you described. There's no such thing as enough saves in these games.

Even on X-Box 360 with no "quick save", I am saving every 5 damn minutes. I learned my lesson in Morrowind.

The same thing happened to be on fable, lost 6 hours of progress, and was like [censored] it never playing it again.

Piece of [censored] game. deletes my entire character for no reason.
