I want an enemy that's practically IMPOSSIBLE to beat outsid

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 1:29 pm

Lots of rpg's have optional or even secret bosses that are a lot stronger than anything else in the game. It could be cool to find something like that in an ES game. It would have to be really out of the way though, I don't wanna be out doing my dungeon diving and run into an uber-boss that just happens to be there. Maybe make a special dungeon that you would have to intentionally look for. Maybe like the Uderfrykte (sp) matron in Oblivion except without the scaling. And not invisible >.<

Why not, just to redraw and go somewhere else.
Now the enemy does not need to be very strong, just paralyze you for two minutes and summon a rat.
But yes I love hard challenges however just having loads of hp does not make it, perhaps taking all the players equipment and silence him as a start :)

If you ever played Final Fantasy VII, then you'll remember Ruby Weapon (or to a lesser extent, emerald weapon).

I think Emerald was harder, but it just depended if you could find the trick on how to beat them.
Both tricks were very strange since it involved giving your own team a disadvantage.

Back on topic: I'm also for deviously designed characters carrying a powerful artifact. Something like seven legendary warriors, all at least level 50 with epic gear...

I think it would also be nice if some really difficult quests in general opened up only after you beaten the main quest or a faction.

One week later after you finished the main quest someone approaches you looking for "the most powerful warrior in Skyrim" for some reason.
Or when you're the Arch Mage one of your Master Wizard seeks your advice on something he's working on, leading to a "master quest" with an exceedingly difficult puzzle where you need to find clues in several dungeons, books, etc...

Just give us more endgame material...

I would like the villain of the main quest to be almost impossible to beat.

No.

If they had it I wouldn't care, but I prefer not because I svck at combat so unless I can run around it real fast to hit it a little at a time then no thanks.

You mean like Gaenor?

Be careful for what you wish for.

Personally, I vote no. Or, if there is an opponent like this, please keep it optional for those players who enjoy this sort of challenge.

Of course, if you could TALK this opponent to death, I'd go for that.

It seems most of the people saying no on this poll are girls(guessing by their their names: Dandelion, TayciBear, Teka Lynn), not that that means anything, but i think its interesting.

Your username is sixually ambiguous, but I'm not going to assume you're genderless.

It's actually the Male name of a great Chinese general who almost conquered the whole country at the end of the Han Dynasty, but i don't expect you to know that i guess. any chinese name would look sixually ambiguous i guess.

Not impossible. That would be bad.

But almost impossible :)

It should be so hard and cool that you have to have legendary items to beat it, and have to have SUPA' PRO SKILLZ X2000.

It should be so hard that people will upload videos on youtube "OMG I JUST BEAT "insert name"!!!! WATCH!"

Yeah I realised it's Asian, but it didn't ring any bells.

It should not be hard because the enemy has too much health or other stat on steroids(Gaenor)
It should be hard because it would require player skill, good timing, an actual strategy, etc.

I'm fine with hard enemies, just not with tedious enemies.

Yeah, it shouldn't take too long, or long enough so it gets boring/tedious. It should be that you have to have skills or your just gonna get killed real fast, as soon as you start slipping up.

I was thinking more along the lines of a super ancient werewolf 10x stronger than a normal werewolf. And there could be a cool little story about him and a pretty big dungeon you have to go through to get to him.

Like the Legendary Deathclaw in NV. Man he was a strong.
Or maybe more like Gaenor

I had a tougher fight with Deathclaws at Quarry Junction. Still, he was formidable.
Even radscorpions, ferals, spore carriers, lakelurks etc. made me want to wet my pants at times. Those early levels were scary. :ahhh:

Needless to say I'd like some unique nearly impossible to beat boss creatures in Skyrim.
