It fits the lore of D&D, but not TES. When members of two different races mate, the baby comes out pretty almost exactly like the mother's race. (Look at the Grand Champion of the Arena in Oblivion.) Two species would have to continually mate with each other over several centuries to create a "half and half race".

I thought they said the game stays single player, which I think is great, because once they go multiplayer alot of the game mechanics would have to change.

I love the elder scrolls series, there has been only two things i wish i they would add: half and half races, and online multi-player.

When can i play my half orc half elf with my friends online?

Well I can easily say..

Sometimes they have features of both. I think its quite reasonable and not very difficult to do this(for some races). For example it would be easy for Beth to have say a Nord and Redguard parent and there kid in SR.

With a bit imagination and even a couple of mods you can play 'half races' I don't really need it , I don't also think it really fits lore wise ...

Mer and Men havin' a bit of difficult history all together ....

I also can life without being a multiplayer game I apprieceted that The Elder Scrolls never been multi player games and much likely never will be ...

Currently I have two games installed on my laptop the first one is World of Warcraft If I am in the mood for multiplayers , the second is Oblivion If i am not in the mood for multiplayers, both roleplaying games ...

Yes, they have features of both occasionally, but in those cases, the traits of the father's race manifest themselves so subtly that it would be pointless to do it in-game since most players wouldn't notice the difference anyways.

Shouldn't be that hard and when you make up you character you can make it by far believable you could for so far I know since Morrowind, I believe in Skyrim you even can set up you're length and what kind of facial hair you have ...

The closest thing to a half-race in TES is the Breton which is halt human and half aldmer. Other than that it is like someone said: your inherent your race from your mother(even though I'm sure it is exceptions).

No multiplayer is confirmed. Feel free to discuss what could have been, if multiplayer was included, in the following thread... http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1119156-official-tes-multiplayerco-op-thread/

Timeline wise even with all the Prejudice half and halfs should be more common. (and like was pointed out has already happened in the game for NPCs) i think the character creation would be perfect too. imagine picking a half orc half nord and having slightly increased strength and slightly decreased merchant skills.

actually my personal character build would prob be half orc half wood elf battlemage.

If you could do a mix breed what would it be?

You know custom races are pretty easy to mod. If this is what you want then it would be best to make it yourself.

The devs are very happy with the ten races they have and are not likely to add anything any time soon. Maybe when Mr. Howard retires and some idiot takes over the reigns you'll get your double half thing.

Actually I think there are some mods on the nexus that have done the work for you for Oblivion.

Personally I don't think your idea is all that, besides, after twenty levels or so the racial bonuses are pretty moot since everyone has nearly 100 points in all of them.

It's already happened with NPC's, and it can happen with the PC. Just roleplay that your character's mother was a Bosmer and his/her father was a nord and select Bosmer as your race, or vice versa, and select your mother's race as your character's race. However, Having a race that's "half and half" doesn't fit in the TES lore; it's more like 99% and 1%.

As for the Breton, they resulted from men and mer interbreeding over the course of hundred of years.

No multiplayer.

And if you want a play a half-orc, half-wood elf, you can just make a wood elf and make their skin look green.

Why not make it possible to be 1/8 kahjiit, 1/8 argonian, 1/8 orc, 1/8 highelf, 1/8 woodelf, 1/8 breton, 1/8 nord, 1/8 redguard and make most npc like that, all cities will be alike and there will be no uniqueness. And call it "Elders Scrolls V: Political correct Skyrim", and ur mainquest will be to tell all the non-mixed nords "how racist they are", 1 million times.

Bretons have always been a playable TES race. It can be difficult to tell them apart from imperials though.

Wasn't there some book in one of the TES games which covered the subject on half races?

Mankar Camoran was of very mixed race, even though he looked Altmer.
He had Breton, Altmer and Nordic racial abilities and resistances.

You can continue the discussion here for mixed races but any multiplayer/co-op discussion needs to http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1191628-alright-im-up-early-where-is-it/. Thanks.

Yep. They'ere the second-best race at using magicka, and they're not weak against it like the Altmer.
