i want to know when the pc specs are coming

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 8:16 pm

Reason I want to know this because I want to be able to have the money in case I need to do a few upgrades to my PC i do not want to play on PS4 I have not played Fallout on console since Fallout 3 when I had to wait on my GPU to come in the mail and I had to go out and buy it again even though I am going to buy it twice(Fallout 4) for the physical copy of the game.

I'm going to go out on a limb and state that they will release the requirements at some point before release.

But in all seriousness I'd imagine it'll be a month or two before release.

Answer is....If you can play Skyrim reasonably well FO4 won't be a stretch really. Just start saving now if you're worried.

You answered your own question, odds are we won't even need enbs or nmc/pocobeuno type textures probably.

I think vanilla we'll be fine, plus who knows when mods will start being released, CK won't be available for a bit I think.

Yeah, will be a bit till modders get comfy with 64 bit and F4SE arrives. One script extender arrives all will be good.

I'd bet your 1st born on it, with old gen consoles being out of the mix no reason to not be.

Be dumb for them not to. I just hope they iron out some of the annoyances. Like stutter bug etc..

Both One and PS4 uses an amd x86 cpu, like any cpu after pentium 4 its 64 bit.

They also have 8 GB ram so they will need 64 bit themselves.

32 bit Windows is in practice limited to programs around 2 GB in size, this is as windows take 1GB and the graphic card memory 1GB, this will not be enough to run FO4, It was hardly enough to run Skyrim with the hd texture pack.

Game requirements are usually released rather close to the actual game release, so I would guess we get them 2-4 weeks before the game is relesased.

Definitely want to know, I will hold of on pre-ordering until I do. I know I'll need to update my PC anyhow (it's 4 years old and has only 4Gb Ram) but I'd like to know by how much since I'm on a tight budget. If it's going to be too much tinkering I might just opt for the PS4 version.

I7 4790k
16 gigs ram
gtx 980ti
1.5T ssd.

I think Im a little overkill for this game, and my wallet hates me

A word of warning if your computer has a floppy disk drive, you may need a new computer.

Actually, if you're pc is too slow, just stick a bunch of cool stickers on it. It's proven to up the speed by 10x

Only worry is probably ram. I don't have all that much and if they are using all that the consoles allow for the devs, then I might need to get a little bit more. Ram is cheap so its no biggie though.

If you want a rough idea, take a look at the console specs it's being built for (xbox one and PS4 I believe). Give or take, that'll be somewhere between your minimum & recommended specs for PC.

For PC, ballpark comparison...

CPU Core/Thread count - less than maximum of consoles will be fine (it's not going to fully utilize all cores)

CPU Speed - Have higher speed than consoles

RAM - Have at minimum the same amount of ram as the consoles, more is better unless they cap it.. :stare:

GPU - Have a much better Graphics Card than Consoles

Guys, I need to know. Is the i5 3750k even relevant these days? I couldn't get Dragon Age Inquisition running smoothly without Mantle (HD7990).

I really hope I can play FO4 on low if I can play Skyrim on Ultra. Even if my GPU is very bad for modern gaming (GT545... meh...). But if it was enough for Ultra Skyrim on 1980 widescreen... I hope it will work for FO4 on low. FO4 will in no way have the same minimum specs than Witcher 3.
