Want to level beyond 100 - what's the mod of choice for it?

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2016 12:14 am

Hi all,

My current build is approaching 100 in Sneak and I was beginning to have that annoying train of thought about legenderizing so the character can keep leveling even though it sort of doesn't make sense when I remembered that I'm now on a PC with the freedom to address such shortcomings with great mods!

So, I browsed the Skills and Leveling section of the Nexus but didn't see anything obvious! I'd like to keep leveling past 100, that's all - no need for re-specing perks, no need for a perk-tree overhaul, no need for instant perk points through potions/books etc.

Maybe there's a command-line solution that's even easier than a mod? I'll check the creation kit wiki's console commands page, but in the meantime... what do you suggest?

Many thanks!

The solution is the Uncapper.

It's very configurable but the main thing is what you specifically want, allow skills progress past 100.

Woo Whoo! That's the ticket - thanks!

(... and of course, it's not under the Skills and Leveling category...)

The Uncapper is magnificent. Besides uncapping you can you can use it to configure how much Health, Magicka and Stamina points you get per level, how many perks you get per level (and at which levels), how fast each skill levels up and how much that level-up contributes to your overall character level, and much more. It's a really fantastic mod that is absolutely essential in every one of my games. I don't have many "essential" mods that I use in every game, but that is one of them.

The Uncapper was one of the early mods released for Skyrim as evidenced by the low mod number and original release date not even 2 weeks after the game's famous release date. Many of the categories that exist today on the Nexus didn't exist right away but were added later on as the mod volume for the game began to grow.

No kidding?! I didn't realize this mod was one of the first. Where is the mod number? I never knew they were numbered.

Thanks

I agree completely, this one is an absolute necessity. It removes the level cap in a very logical way. It is what Beth should have implemented themselves but instead chose the rather braindead method.

In case anyone worries about becoming overpowered due to unusually high skills, know that the Uncapper has separate settings for hard and effective skill caps. By default they are set to 999 and 199 respectively (which can be changed for each skill individually).

I recommend reading and studying through the configuration file. The Uncapper can do a lot of things.

Well not one of the very first, but it was nearly in the first 1,000 mods released. Look at the url for any mod and note the number right after the /skyrim/mods/ part - for the Uncapper:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1175/? --> the 1175 part is the mod number for the Uncapper on Nexus.

Look at the urls for the various mod releases for today and you'll see they just recently within the past few days passed 78,000 mods on Nexus.
