I want to marry Balimund, but....

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 9:54 pm

He is by far the most....compelling man in the game so far. And I just about fell over when I found out I could marry him.

My question is, if I do will he abandon his forge? I don't want him to, and don't want to 'ruin' him and lose him as a weapons merchant. If he moves into Honeyside will he still work the forge next to his home? What happens to his home if he moves in with me?

Not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain you'd have to move in with him if you want to keep him at his daily routine. If he moves in with you, I think he'll just stay at home.

P.S. Oh, hey VG. Didn't realize it was you when I was replying.

Yup. I caved and jumped into Skyrim. I love it so far...

I wish I knew for certain what would happen. Like I said, he's yummy, but I don't want to take his career away. That's no good...

If you choose the lets live in your house/move in with him option, he'll keep his Blacksmith job.

Move into his house, he'll keep hammering away and give you a portion of the earnings.

When I married Ysolda and moved in with her she kept her routine and walked around the city.

When I had her move into Breezehome (next-door) she stayed home all the time.

I think he will stay inside if you have him move in.

My Nord thief chick is going to marry Balimund, too. She's based in Riften and I was over there a lot smithing leather stuff, so I figure they got the little giving each other furtive glances thing going.

Then I see Haelga hanging around one day... :flamethrower:

With 100 Pickpocketing, you can steal his clothes and sit around watching him smith half nekkid. :hubbahubba:

Oh, that's not what I meant XD. And yeah, I know that was totally random, but I had just done it the day before so it's the first thing I thought of when I saw his name. I've tried reverse-pickpocketing better stuff and nobody ever seems to use it!

I considered marrying Balimund, but the man doesn't look like he's bathed this era. I think that character ended up marrying Onmund instead...

Unfortunately they won't wear it even if they have no other clothes.
It's a shame. I was hoping to reverse pickpocket fancy clothes and diamond amulets on all the beggars.

He works like 17 hours a day, and you never see him at the pub or at Haelga's.

That's what you call clean dirt.

He also took in an orphan as an apprentice, who seems to be useless but reveres him and says he's very kind. I'll take a hardworking man's man over a sparklefingers in skirts any day.

Ha! My feelings exactly! :foodndrink: I'd look for a kind, honest, hard-working man. Not shun him.

Onmund is an adorable little strumpet, isn't he? I married him on my first character, but I actually wish I had gone for Calder instead. On my current character I just can't find anyone. I want a male Redguard but there aren't any.

On my latest character, I actually used the console to marry Aicantar in Markarth (worked great, and he's a pretty good follower too). I'd already had previous characters marry Onmund, Vilkas, Farkas, and Revyn Sadri (he's slightly buggy, still tells me I'm not supposed to be in his shop, sometimes :( ). None of the other marriageable guys interest me much (Balimund is a sweetheart, yes, but I can't get over the dirty face). Plus I wanted a High Elf for my High Elf. Hmm, I wonder if the console trick would work on Shadr in Riften?
