Patch 1.9 makes the game unplayable. The game crashes (aka. lags as hell) now in every match, can't play 30 minutes of non-stop gaming (fps drop from 25 to 17).

I would say...congratulations, now graphic card manufacturers will be happy. 5% of C2 owners are gonna put 1 more graphic card on their rig. Unfortunately, I'm not like these inglorious bastards I'm poor....I cannot afford a second graphic card or a most powerful one.

It's sad how things work. For months I've seen people biching all day in the forums till yesterday because their rig was too powerful for Crysis 2....I have a Zotac geforce 250gts amp+ edition. Lowered it because it was overheating. Now the game lags as hell...It can't handle it.

I would like Crysis 2 to be the great game before patch 1.9. I mean, I don't care if people prefer to use it like a benchmark suite, I just wanna play and have fun. As a dx9 capable graphic card owner, frames per second have been dramaticaly lowered. Therefore, it looks awful, everything is darkness (It isn't a metaphor, brightness is at 100% and it still black).

actually umm, i got much better fps from the new dual gpu support, i dunno i havent tried everything, but this patch seems to have fixed a lotta stuff

A LOT OF PLAYERS, LIKE ME, ARE EXPERIENCING LOW FRAME RATES BECAUSE OF THE GRAPHIC CHANGES IN PATCH 1.9. IT ISN'T RELATED TO ANY BUG... IF YOU READ IT YOU WILL SEE THAT I DON'T EVEN MENTION IT.

the 'darkness' is due to the graphic implementations they made (SSDO?). That's why medium settings is a must. It would be exactly the same as High settings was before the patch -and it would be playable for me and other players with similar rigs-.

i run the game before on extreme before 1024x1080 , all extreme , all okay

my system i7 920 , 12gb ram , 2 gtx 285 sli .

i want to run as is before it was..

please fix this.. or tell me how to roll back. will help install all but not high texture? or..

Thx, but that's not the problem. The Issue (dark screen+low fps) is related to the graphic applications added. They made the 'high settings' look like the 'Very high settings' in previous patches...a 'darker fps killer setting' for everyone with Dx9 cards, even some Dx10 cads

It have something to do with the ambient occlusion...SSAO/SSDO....

Try turning tesselation off, not much else has changed to affect performance THAT much

Like I said before, I have a 250gts. A Dx9 /10 capable card. Tessalation comes with DX11. I haven't downloaded the Dx11 pack, nor the high res pack. But the game dropped from 25~ fps to 15~ , it's darker and I can't see nothing.

I have noticed the difference in contrast ratio and the performance drop. I am on a dual GTX 480 set up, but this morning had to drop to one because I had to fix my OS X problem and that was how most of my testing took place. Will do some more testing tonight with my gt 240 which ran the game at an admirable 29fps on average before the patch. Have you disabled everything in the graphics menu including motion blur to single out the one thing that is causing a few users strain? It could just be a bug because I don't think they changed the existing configurations.

Use the command: r_ssao = 0
It's a habit for me to type in every time I change servers. SSAO is unnatural, imo.
An on/off button would do nicely.

Crytek are really screwing this game. I was happy with the graphics of the patch 1.8 and comes the patch 1.9 and I **** everything. I have not much money to go renew my computer every week and I pay for the game to enjoy it. I need and we need some quick solution Crytek. Personally I get angry with this and the graphics of Patch 1.9, I just need to play fluently and with graphic patch 1.8, I played very well but now I only play with 17 fps!!! know what that is for someone who loved the game? Give me a solution..

+1 for the "remove the darkness" and "performace drop". I have a GTX 260 and was playing flawlessly in 1.8. Now even with the lowest settings sometimes i get framedrops (in large battles, and when orbital strike is fireing). Come on... is it so hard to make all the graphical settings appear like in prev. crysis? (AA, AF, MSAA...)
It starts to get unplayable now. It is not fair, all working untill now and now you mess with us low-midrange PC gamers. WTF!

agree, my 4 years old PC can run the game smoothly on the lowest settings with no problem or even slow downs in intense battles in the MP at all and it looked beautiful to me now the game looks so weird with this darkness effect and its unplayable for me now, so am not gonna touch the MP again until we get the same old grfx and performance in patch 1.8. I hope you read this Crytek.

Just type in r_colorgrading = 0 in the autoexec or console. BOOM! No more darkness.

Just for reference, Medium is called Very High in Crysis 2. Low is called High.
