I want more enemy numbers

I want more enemy numbers on attacks and maybe waves of attacks. This could make the game more interesting.

I don't think that a majority of players would like that. If you are on PC, look for the Settlement Raid mod in development, I use it and it's quite fun already. If you are on consoles, not my problem.

This is something I've said on multiple occasions. I'm on a second play through right now and I just did the quest clearing out the Boston Public Library for the vendor in Goodneighbor. There were no less than 25 super mutants, including two legendary super mutants all attacking me at basically the same time, along with 3 turrets and 8-9 Protectrons attacking Piper and I as well as the super mutants. I've never seen enemies populate in those kinds of numbers all at once in such a relatively small location, short of a few quests like Battle of Bunker Hill and Defend the Castle and some others. I was expecting it to be more of a "go clear out these 5 super mutants" type of quest, and walked into things a bit too boldly. I got slaughtered. I had to reload and take a slightly more cautious approach.

This is weird, because I did this same quest in my last play through and I don't remember it being anything even remotely like this. It was an intense engagement. Also a very enjoyable engagement. I'd love to see things like this a bit more often.

I love action and having to use strategy against numbers.

I'm on console and dang you didn't have to go there because you have a PC.

I prefer smaller groups of more worthy enemies myself. Nice boss one on ones are great.

If you have played recent Dynasty Warriors, you'll know why some of the Dynasty Warriors fans want 'Quality Over Quantity' on screen instead.

People still play DW? I gave up after seeing Techmo turn every character into a girl at Dynasty Warriors 6... That and essentially buying the exact same game for a 6th time just started to feel wrong.

I dunno about waves, I just want to see forces occupy positions in a smarter way, and really try and pin you into a spot and hurt you.

Its like the Super Mutant Radar place you go to near Reverre Beach Station, why do they all come down to fight you when they have the advantage of elevation? They should take advantage of their position and rain fire from the sky, and maybe have some Sledgehammer wielding muties stay on ground level to keep you on your toes and remove you from cover.

I actually like the Wave-Attack like in GTAV but this also needs a improved Attack Warning System. I mean for Settlement Attacks.

I am not really a fan of fighting waves of enemies or fighting more. I still have nightmare of boredom about the stupid waves in DA 2. Every fight eskalated into half a holocaust. It wasn't even that hard. It was just boring after doing it over and over. It was really unimmersive as well. Why were they even that late to the party and where do they come from? A clone facility?

We can fight imho enough enemies already. We can't even fart Downtown without someone asking "Is someone there?".

More fighting is completly redundant.

Maybe they should make minor DLC for the memory den where those who want to do arena fights can have them of any sorts.

I sneaked in there and let the robots and super mutants kill each other, so all I had to do was mop up the remains. Easy peasy =)

something arcade style would be great. maybe a BOS mission to hold off a deathclaw assault, like in the many console constructed videos, but legit to where it actually awards something..

Sorry, but I disagree... Certainly a more powerful Boss should present itself at certain points, but larger "horde" type waves prior to that encounter (with more powerful sub-Bosses included in the mix) require actual combat strategy rather than finding the proper game mechanic to exploit (the usual way to eventually defeat BIG BOSS battles consistently). Varying AI, Random spawn points and randomness in the spawn tables present the player with a scenario that cannot be fully memorized or prepared for (some of these were obviously used in the Boston Library encounter the OP describes).

Note that a lot of the variances you will see in game encounters will be based on the PC level when the encounter spawns, so entering the Library at LVL 10 will provide a much different encounter than if you enter it first at LVL 40.

Once I was walking a little distance out of the city and suddenly I saw a group of 6 raiders. That I will call a midnight raid. They was up to something nothing good I tell. So I sneak behind, kept mine breath and carefully draw mine missile launcher. Aimed in the middle of the group, kept mine ears and eyes on alert just in case I was spotted by any enemies from behind. Nothing, but the group of the 6. I took the shot, counting seconds and there they went, into skyheaven or Valhalla (since I may have 0.0001% viking blood). I loot the bodies and back home and scrap some of the items to metals/minerals.

Back to reality, I'm lvl 103 and there are almost high level npc to fight who can take a lot of heat before they "surrenders" and the instance bosses - awfull foes I need to be carefull with unless myself end up in Valhalla :-) There are area in FO where you need to fight alot of npc at the same time. I would rather fight a small group containing strong enemies rather than larger group of weak ones.

Cheers,

-Klevs

Everyone has their preferences. Certainly hordes of ferals can be fun but I really like the three or four raiders etc who force you under cover and try to pin you down while another circles around. That sort of stuff. As I said, I really enjoy a little dramatic one on one with a big boss. I also enjoy the chance to melee without getting shot at. Three to four guys come at me with melee weapons. great fun but you know, its all good.

I think you're mixed up about Tecmo and DW.

There's no changing every character into a girl in DW6. And Tecmo didn't create and publish DW6.

Fast travel Postal Square, walk around and be happy. Otherwise, wait until well past level 50 and trust me, settlements get some good ones.

Waves? eh, not all the time, but would be cool for settlement attacks... when I am there!

there are a few great places to get overwhelmed. Big John's Salvage is one. just stand in front of the house, don't go inside. Feels like they never stop coming at you! with bears and deathclaws wandering in for fun!

does increasing difficulty have any effect on the number of enemies?

Number of enemy, no. The levels, yes. faced a few encounters of multiple Super Mutant Warlords. Beforehand, it was Primus after level 60 and multiple raiders with missile launchers. Forgot the ultimate nemesis with me, Charred Ghouls... I hate Ghouls even more in this game ( the ferals to be specific).

Yes they did... Koei Tecmo...

And they did change every character into a girl, look wise. I did not mean they actually gave everyone a six-change, they just used a similair art direction to Zhang He for every character, he was unique and cool in previous games, and now every one of them feels like they received the same treatment. Maybe saying 'girly' is inappropriate, and I apologize if you took offence to that, but something between 5 and 6 in character designs went weird and really put me off, that and the press-square forever feature in a game where bashing square to win is already annoying (not sure if they've continued that in the games past 6).

I'm one of the boring players who's favourite was Zhao Yun, but thats cause I started playing the game pretty young at DW2.

Since then I've come to appreciate Pang Tong quite a bit, that and I had the opportunity to read the book the game is based on.

hm... Why?

Wouldn't that kind of nullify the entire stealth build thing?

Everybody would have to wear power armor all the time and never do anything but kill wave after wave after wave of enemies ALL the time.

Just doesn't sound like much fun to me.

At higher levels you can go defend a settlement and maybe get a couple of Raiders that die quick. You also get the odd serious fight. I had about 16 Super Mutants to deal with a couple of days ago. A couple of Overlords, or whatever those are, I think it was 3 Suiciders and handful of Legendary's, there were maybe 4 normal ones.

It was a close thing. I almost got killed. That's not supposed to happen!

Survival, FP , no VATS.

Try fast traveling or, if you haven't already, setup Oberland and TenPines. I GUARANTEE you'll get an attack a day. :)
