10 is plenty for the vanilla game. That said, if you are on PC put a mod request on the forums here or over at Nexus once the game goes live. Someone might want to mod it in.

Why should a paying customer, who wants to play a dremora character, be denied that option?

A company that releases construction sets for its games denies its customers nothing ...

Fuuuu.. LEAVE SCRIPTING ALONE! I'm talkinf about Lore!!! Elves, humans and beast races and all of these creatures have free will, but Daedras don't! Is it so difficult to understand...?

EDIT: A user have linked an article that shows that Dremoras seem to have free will. But at the same time, it shows us why they couldn't be a playable race anyway: they are crazy homicidal psychopaths...
By the way, I want to play as a wolf. Bethesda, leave me play as a wolf!

They make the game. They include things that make sense.

Elder Scrolls lore can change with each installment of the Elder Scrolls franchise.

We are talking about a commercial product, a game, that has not reached the market yet. Some changes to prior installments have already been made public. There is no reason why such an addition couldn't be made at this point. More options for the player > less options for the player.

If you weren't interested in playing a dremora, then you wouldn't have to play a dremora. But if it is added as a playable race, then it could be an option for those who are interested in giving it a try. :)

Why are you opposed to the player have the option of playing a dremora?

I'm opposed to it in the Vanilla game, it's cool, for mods. Why? Because it doesn't make sense... it wouldn't fit at all, I mean... people are afraid of dremoras, you can't enter a town being a dremora and do quest and become a hero. I doesn't make sense at all.

Imo there should be an option (or mod) to be any living being within the world. Granted the story and item usages may be drastically limited, the option of it being implemented would be great. If a man wants to be a wolf and run around chasing rabbits or a werebear trashing a small village looking for salmon steaks than he/she should have that option as well.

I mean they did say "be who you want, play how you want...." It would only bring more depth to the meaning and the world created for our gaming pleasure.

I'd bribe for an insectoid race. Also who cares about the lore, haven't you seen what they did to Cyrodiil?

Because large as TES games are, resources are ultimately limited, and I can't think of an existing race (or other significant feature) I'd be willing to give up to give them this opportunity. And because the integrity of the lore affects the quality of the product delivered to all paying customers--and I like dremora as the current lore defines them.

Dremora are the demons of TES, demons don't get to chill at the tavern with other people

Yes, and I ******* hated it! I don't see how completely ballsing up one aspect of the game justifies doing it again.

All I'm saying is, let them go wild and bring as many stuff to the table as they can, lore be damned.

Do you have anything which is not circular reasoning to actually back up your view?

"People" were afraid of dremoras in prior installments. The game is changing. That too can change, or the playable dremora might have to earn the trust of the locals. (There are rpg possibilities there.)

Are you familiar with a Joss Whedon program called Angel? (It was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off). The title character is a vampire with a soul who fights the "bad guys" and is a hero. It can be done.

The only thing the lore says about Lilmothiit is that they once had a civilization in Black Marsh and now they don't. You could take that to mean they're extinct, but it's a similar situation with the Ayleids and there's still hidden communities of Ayleids living in Cyrodiil (they were just hiding very well in TES4). They could probably still be around somewhere... most likely not in Lilmoth though.

Instead of having new races added to Skyrim, maybe just add the other variations of certain races such as the Ohmes and the Ohmes-raht.

Maybe not for Skyrim but maybe the next ES or one down the line... even if it is still set somewhere in Cyrodiil. there are other landmasses we know that are out there and its entirely possible for one of them to have intelligent humanoids we haven't heard about yet. why cant one of them build some boats and sail hear either escaping something or trying to invade or just exploring out.

and if down the line an ES game leaves Cyrodiil then we might very well meet new races (id expect that in the first game that we leave Cyrodiil we will have the same 10 races to play to give it the morrowind feel again, stranger in a strange world) then in the next game why not play as one of the new races.

Well, in a way they could... Just summon one when you're in a tavern and technically, the dremora is chillin with you in the tavern.

Haha. Anyway I don't really care about new races. It would be nice to have one or two more but I don't see it necessary.

Why not?

While there was some evidence of racial tensions in the game, there is no evidence of characters being denied access to public locales because of their race.

You could possibly have a dwarf race; I'd enjoy RPing as one of them with a big 2 handed battle axe.

Now I realise that they are all supposed to have died out; but i'm sure it could be believable that maybe a small group of them just moved underground or something like that until something happens that makes them re-appear...

The Dwarfes (better known as Dwemer) were related to the elven races (mer)
and they look like elves, too. Not like Gimly from LoTR.

they not look like: http://www.lordoftherings.net/images/ca_jrhys.jpg
more like:

Of course it can be done--if doing it is the point of the game or program. TES V is not, however, subtitled Redemption of the Dremora and appears to have its focus elsewhere.
